I need the unique number from the ceremony invitation letter to book the ceremony, do I? Without the letter I can't book it

I want to travel abroad after submitting my documents. Will I get notified by email when my approval letter be issued? Or it only comes by normal mail?

I heard it's only 14 days after receiving of that letter to act further, so I don't want to miss that.

My date of application can't be before 28.12 (1 year from ILR). But the earliest biometrics appointment slot now is 15.01. If I fill my aplication form today, pay fees and book that appointment slot, will the date of my application be 20.12.20 (today) or 15.01.21?

I wasn't fined. I've been put on self-isolation after travelling, and now think if I can be a bit cheeky and go to grocery store or to the park.
