Hi. I've used https://www.hcilondon.gov.in/appointment/ to book the appointment for birth registration and had it completed. It is not done in VFS so no need to go to VFS services for appointment. One more point, AFAIK (not 100% sure) the appointments open a month ahead and might be taken quicker so...

@kpkumar Yes, we got the birth registered and certificate issued within the same appointment although we had to wait a bit that was ok. I don't think any special questions asked at all. It was only verification of docs, signing the affidavit in the form provided and paying the fee. Hope that helps.
