Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Submitted my application on 17th Feb 2020, sent off documents shortly after but never received the confirmation of received documents. Is this cause for worry? I sent the docs on 21.2.20 and got the docs received email on 25.11.20 - I would certainly ask the question now that we are able to. I'm su...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I've been lurking here for a while and finally got some news: Application received: Dec 29 2019 Request for docs: Feb 17 2022 They requested that I send in my mom's FBR, which seems strange because I'm applying through my grandmother (her mother) and I sent in all the appropriate documentation for ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

There are currently 32,000 applications for which documentation has been received, and which are awaiting processing. In 2020, documents were received for just over 16,000 applications, with 11,000 received in 2021. Of the applications currently on hand, just over 12,000 have been awaiting processi...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

They wanted my fathers marriage certificate to my mother, and my marriage certificate to my wife. As I'm claiming through my Father (born outside Ireland to an Irish born parent) and in turn my paternal grandmother (born in Ireland) I'd included my grandmothers marriage certificate to my grandfathe...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Long time lurker, first time poster. This forum has been so helpful, both in terms of answering questions, but in helping me stay sane while waiting as well :) I finally had contact from the team recently! I'm so excited to see movement on my application, my timeline: Application: 25/09/2019 Docume...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I have just seen this on the Oireachtas website. A reply to questions from Deputies to the Minister for Foreign Affairs regarding the backlog of FBR applications (dated 21 September 2021). There are over 31,000 unprocessed applications. At present and only emergency cases are being dealt with (as w...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Also, for people looking for confirmation from the FBR team, you can submit a question via the dfa.ie "contact us" form on their website, and they will respond. You can give them your application number and they will check it for you. That's interesting - have you had some success using t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Outstanding effort - thank you!

It's a shame we can't verify everyone, and as per the comment above, those who have forgotten up come back and report - still, an excellent resource.

I'll be very excited to see the first 2020 applicant go through (I know there was a sister/pregnancy one)

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

With all the waiting and no information or communication so many are despairing. The FBR and passport processing is a clearly a big issue for the whole country. The passport delays featured in a Live phone-in on RTE radio just a few weeks ago. If you want to hear some of the issues experienced it g...

Good news to share with all! Hi all, long time lurker here with a question about the 'confirmation of address' email. I posted my application on 27 Feb 2020 and haven't received any contact since then. I sent my docs by recorded delivery so I know they were definitely received in Balbriggan; just wanted to know whether anyone ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Afternoon all. Irish grandmother, British parents, and so I have applied for FBR. Applied and paid in February 2020, no confirmation of address email so far, and for my own sanity I'm not putting any timeline on when I expect to receive such an email. In the meantime, I've set up an email filter to...
