Re: Irish naturalisation - do I need it???

Travelling with an Irish passport might bring you less attention (i.e. Brits are disliked in quite a few countries, for obvious reasons; the Irish...not so much). I am sure some countries allow Irish passport holders visa-free (or longer visa-waiver) travel than they do for Britih passport holders,...

Irish naturalisation - do I need it???

Hi all, I'm a British citizen, living in Ireland permanently for 12 years (half my life). I recently married an American and went through the long battle of getting the Stamp 4 EU1Fam for my wife. We were successful in the end (see here: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=31056 ), howe...

Stamp 4 EUFam Successfully Obtained - Here's how!

Hi all, I'm a UK citizen married to an American citizen living in Ireland. Several months ago, I posted a number of queries to this forum: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=22388 http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=23938 http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=24...

Re: Some queries on SECTION D of the EU1 Form

Any time the non-EU citizen has been in Ireland with their EU spouse, they are considered resident. This is even if they were in Ireland for a short visit. http://eumovement.wordpress.com/2007/06/20/where-do-you-reside-hint-legally-this-is-an-easy-question/ OK, but the previous times she was in Ire...

Some queries on SECTION D of the EU1 Form

Hi there, I'm a little confused on Section (D) of EU1 Form: (1) Date of Arrival in State: My wife has been in and out of the State since April 2007. She last entered the State on 1st March 2008 - so do we need to put April 2007 here, or 1st March 2008?? (2) Have you previously resided in the state? ...

Some questions on filling out Form EU 1

Hiya, I have another running thread: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?p=137389#137389 but thought that it might be better to ask these questions in a separate thread. We will be filling out the EU 1 Form soon. Can anyone who has successfully had an EU 1 Form accepted, please comment on...

They wouldn't extend my visitor's visa (well, my visa waiver, anyway), and wouldn't give me another stamp. So for a while, I just had no proof that I was in the country legally. So, you simply stayed in the country illegally once your 1 month was up? Did this not have any implications for processin...

Since there is no spouse visa for people who come under the visa waiver category, she will have to necessarily arrive following the usual protocols for an American Citizen on a visit to Ireland. Once she is here, apply for residency using the E.U1 form here . If things don't work out (Hopefully, yo...

UK Citizen Married to US Citizen, need Stamp4 URGENT

Hi all, I posted a topic before: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?p=137389#137389 Despite some of your recommendations, we decided to marry. I have been in the USA for the past fortnight, where we held a small ceremony in the park and are now married. I have applied for certified abstr...

Any reason why you didn't become an Irish citizen when you were eligible (about 6 years ago)? The processing times are quite long currently, but probably were quicker then (especially for someone British). No reason at all... I never saw the point before, as I was young, able to live and work here ...

UK Citizen Marrying US Citizen in Ireland - very confused

Hello all, I've been reading through this forum in relation to obtaining Stamp 4 and EU.1 permits. I'm very confused. A little on my background: - I am a UK Citizen. - I am 23 years old. - I moved here with my parents when I was 12 and did my leaving cert, junior cert and 3 years of a 4 year degree ...
