I dont have LTR but do have WCATT endorsement. I think (not sure) LTR doesnt allow you to change profession or open business or be a partner in business (if you are currently on work permit or work visa or work authrozation). I might be wrong. But with WCATT , there are no conditions i.e. You are e...

A friend of mine applied on Dec 07. His solicitor sued the Minister in High court for the delay in processing his client's citizenship application and won the case. So the Minister had to approve my friend's application and pay his solicitors fees and expenses. Isn't this gas! Well, I don't know if...

I've been doing a bit more researching and it seems there are two types of police clearance. 1) Police Certificate of Good Character This can be requested by an individual and is typically used for periods of working abroad or immigration to another country. Requests for Certificates of Character a...

Hi everybody, Does anybody know where INIS Naturalisation requests Garda Checks from? Because my file is pending Garda clearance since 20th of October, I've decided to send a letter to Garda Vetting Unit asking for the status of that request. To my surprise, I have received a reply from them! They'v...

Re: Ring today morning

Folks, To all who applied in 2006 and have supplied additional docs in later half of 2008. I would appreciate if we all can ring INIS today/thursday to find out the status of application - Garda check OR Send to minister. These two steps seem to have taken forever. Did anyone received approval lett...

Forgot to add that they told me, any decision will be on jan-09 most probably Hi! I think it is a very good news for you! I know for sure that what they send to the minister are "Recommendations" with list of people below and a field for the Minister to sign. For example "Assistant S...

Re: Declaration of fidelity

it mentioned in the citizenship application saying that you suppose to register to them after 7 years continuously living abroad after you naturalized to be an irish citizenship. Guys, without being rude or something - what are you talking about?! I've been reading this post for few days now and it...

A quick update. Received my LTR approval letter today. Applied on the 24th of November 2006, PCC was requested on the 30th of July. On the 15th of October they have confirmed by phone that Garda clearance came through (I called them). The letter is dated the 24th of October and was posted yesterday....

Let me to annoy you with my "logic" a little bit more :D Well, it's a positive one! The fact that an application reached the Minister (whatever his decision is) means that Citizenship Department have completed all necessary checks, i.e. processing of this case has finished and now it's up ...

Well, bad for the applicant. :( But at least we know that he made a decision on something that was logged in July of 2006! There could have been a criminal offence or something, because if this applicant had insufficient residence or documents, then his case would never have reached the Minister. Fo...

That's an interesting point sashasolar. I thought that there was only one number for INIS. However when I looked up following your post there are 2 nos. There's a no. given at the left hand side of the Home page which is the Dublin NO. 1890 551 500 On the citizenship page http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/...

Guys, I am more and more convinced now that some of the cases stayed in Dublin with old team. The fact that Strongbow sent his letter to Tipp and reply came back from Dublin just proves it. I think a number of cases (e.g. the rest of 2005) stayed behind in Dublin and our slow tea-drinking-break-taki...

Kreshna, no unfortunately not. I know of a guy that received his LTR last Friday. He applied on the 15th of Octiber 2006. It took exactly three months for Garda clearance to be completed. I think we should be in next batch. Must be 3-4 more weeks at least. I used to call LTR section every week askin...

Guys, you have to take into account a possibility that no all naturalisation cases were transferred to Tipperary! What if a portion of 2005 applications stayed behinid in Dublin for completion? If a request for additional documentation comes on a Dublin headed paper, then you have to send docs to Du...
