Re: UKM application experience and timeline

When applying for the passport, did you guys send your current home country passport? I thought we would have to send off our current passports again but the guidance on the website kind of makes me think I just need to send full colour copies of every page of my current and expired passports. It's ...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I received an email last Thursday from the LA consulate to expect an email within 2 weeks to schedule my ceremony via teams. I received that email today and my ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow. So once your certificate gets to the consulate, it seems they are pretty quick and on top of it.

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I was just contacted (via email) by the British Consulate in Los Angeles, confirming receipt of my certificate of registration to become a British citizen. They said that they'll be in touch over the next two weeks to schedule my ceremony which will be conducted via Microsoft Teams (and that friend...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Has anyone that is in my same time line as me, received an invite from the embassy? My 3 months since approval is coming up in a couple of days, I think cnhartford and BostonBrit are also about the same frame. Just wondering if we are all going to have to email.

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I'm in Atlanta (and the ceremony will be in Atlanta) and my letter flat out said don't contact them. It has been 16+ weeks since my approval. I don't suppose you could PM me that email address? :?: Hi Mick, yeah its just citizenship.support@homeoffice.gov.uk, hopefully this helps and you can get an...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I got all my documents back today in the mail, really thought they sent an email to approve you and then mailed your documents back but apparently not. Letter of approval is in there and dated May 20th. Hi Cobra2 Very happy to hear your news. Funny how some of us get an email first. At least you've...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Today I quite unexpectedly received my formal approval letter, along with the documents (birth certificate, passport, etc.) that were submitted with my application. I expected I would be waiting months, but this is exactly 5 weeks from completing my biometrics. The letter is actually dated 8 May (3...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Hi I just sent my UKM application and all the original documents along with my current U.S. passport. If your required to have your passport at the bio metric appointment I assume UKVI know that and returns you documents prior to scheduling your biometrics. I’m only a couple of days into the applic...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Congrats cnhartford. I got an email today just saying that my application would not be completed within the 6 month timeframe, which I kind of assumed since my 6 months is like in 3 weeks. I am just happy things seem to be moving finally. Going to my biometrics appointment a little later today.

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Excellent news, cobra2, we are one day apart for biometrics! So this additional letter is news to me. Is it possible you could share it, anonymizing any personal details? :?: One more twist in the puzzle, hopefully not a problem, though. Here is the exact letter Dear Sirs, It has come to our attent...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I just got my email for biometrics appointment! Man, I was starting to stress and really think they lost my shit, so I feel very relieved now. So that took 62 days to get a response. My biometrics appointment is on Tuesday April 13th. I will submit a detailed timeline of my process later. And my ema...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Yeah, thank you bostonbrit and cnhartford for responding, it is really nice to have this forum. I feel much more confident waiting knowing others are waiting just as long. I will certainly update the post the minute I get an email from them, and hopefully yours won't be too long to follow after that.

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Hey BostonBrit, have you received your biometrics appointment yet? You got your email about your availability around the same time as me so I am just wondering if you've gotten any updates. I am considering sending a follow up email, but I worry about it resulting in a later appointment like what ha...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I agree with Jeda, the application is incredibly easy, I know when I looked into this about 10 years ago it was not so easy, there was not an online application and I did look at a lawyer and I think it was like $2000. It's only £80 to submit the application, if you mess up (which I don't see how yo...
