Hello all

I’m eligible to apply for British citizenship via spouse ( married to British citizen ) and via meeting the ILR+1 year requirement. Could someone advise which route is more favourable to use in my case ?

Re: Tax Self assessment

It is required to submit the most recent full tax return and SA302 when self employed. Not optional. I understand and that’s why I raised the question as I don’t understand how they would ask for something that hmrc clearly show it’s not due till January 2025. Would it be ok to write a cover letter...

Re: Tax Self assessment

I understand but I declare I was self employed between April 2023 and April 2024 and mention in a cover letter that I cannot provide my tax return as it’s not due till January 2025 . Would that be ok ? Only reason I wanted to delay it as it will take time for the accountant to prepare my accounts an...

Re: Continuous residence

That’s great as this gives me assurance that the withdrawn passport won’t have any impact on my ILR . Is there any guidance where I can read more about this please?

Re: T2 - ILR Salary Issue (urgent)

It’s not an issue at all Just email your HR and ask if they have informed the HO that she’s now working 37.5 hours and not 40 hours . If so , you are fine if not then ask them to update the SMS . Problem solved . I think the letter you mentioned is likely to cause confusion and delay and there is no...

Re: First Tribunal Appeal Decision

1. It’s likely they will give you spouse visa 2. They will put you on 10 year route and you can switch to 5 year route once you meet financial requirements 3. I think the time starts from grant date of visa . Other people can confirm this 4. You will get ILR even if you meet all the spouse visa requ...

Re: T2 - ILR Salary Issue (urgent)

1. No it should be fine . 2. It is fine as she’s getting the required salary 3. As long as she’s working the number of hours as per her CoS and getting the correct salary she will be ok . 4. Assuming her change of employment was reported to HO she will be fine . It’s worth checking with her employer...

Tier 2 and ILR

Hello

I am aware tier 2 migrants whose role is on the shortage occupation list only require 80% of the going rate of their salary. Does this also apply when a migrant applies for ILR or in settlement migrants need to meet the going rate requirements as a minimum?

Re: Changing roles same employer

If the new job falls under the same role code then it’s simple process, you may just need to report the employment change via SMS if you changed office etc . If it’s a new job that falls under a different code then you need to apply for a new application along with your family.
