Just received citizenship certificate
Affidavit and bank draft send on 9 April 2021
Citizenship certificate received on 14 July 2021
Certificate print on 24 June 2021

Do you have to apply for it? and if you hold a passport that doesn't require a visa to enter Ireland is it necessary? I'm assuming that they don't return the GNIB/IRP card once we send it in? If you need to travel shortly thereafter, not having received the certificate, What do people do? Re-entry ...

I got my JR decision in 5 weeks process time.my solicitor send two weeks notice to department and they didn't replied so he lodge judicial review on 22 march 2021 and I got my decision on 6 April 2021...the whole process took 5 weeks. The process to qualify you to even file a JR can take 6 months (1. you need the FOI, which can take 2 months, 2. you need a lawyer to send 1-2 letters to the department to give them a chance to rectify the situation - each letter gives the dept c.6 weeks to respond). Second stage letter: May 2019
Approval: 9 April 2021 I got my decision through judicial review its took 6 weeks to got decision after jr proceedings.

No problem! On a related note: I've noticed people have different theories about how long one should wait before going through the courts to force a decision - I've seen everything thrown out 4, 3, 2, 1.5 (years) etc... This all seems like a personal preference as opposed to what the courts favour....
