4 months after arrival: was GTV really worth it?

So I have asked for a 6-month leave from my permanent job in my country and got a 2-year GTV to come to the UK to see if this route of immigration is really worth it. I am married and have a child but I have not applied for their visas yet. Also, I was lucky I found a job in my own profession as a s...

Don't you think GTV is an expensive scheme?

I have been in the UK for nearly 3 months now, but I haven't been able to apply for my family because of expenses. I found a job since day 1 I arrived here, which means I am one of the lucky ones. But the salary is only £33000 annually meaning I don't earn enough to support a family. My wife had a s...

Re: What is our status exactly? My visa sticker says migrant

EDIT: The Royal Society website's FAQs for Global Talent Visa gives a lot of detailed information that may be of interest to you. That may answer some of your questions. But again, as mentioned, the modalities and requirements of the endorsement and its withdrawal are best answered by them. I have ...

Re: What is our status exactly? My visa sticker says migrant

It is likely based on your endorsement. Note that if endorsement is withdrawn, you no longer qualify for the visa or ILR. https://www.gov.uk/global-talent/extend-your-visa Why would they withdraw? I am not sure how this works. For example, I am working in a private cancer research institute and am ...

What is our status exactly? My visa sticker says migrant

So on my visa status it is written GLOBAL TALENT MIGRANT. The word migrant, however, may have a different meaning depending on the country you go to. In Canada, a migrant gets PR on arrival and then passport after a five years. Here in the UK, we may get ILR in 3 years, I have been told. But what ot...

Re: Banks do no open account although I have GTV visa

I have heard of Monzu but I haven't tried it yet. My employer also advised me. But you see, we were to colleagues who went to Santander together, with same documents. They opened for my friend who is on sponsorship visa, but not for me.

Re: Work requirement for ILR application through Global Talent route

This is a good question. I want to know the answer too. I recently arrived and did not really cared about ILR and citizenship to be honest. For me only having a job was important.

Banks do no open account although I have GTV visa

Hi all, I am in the UK but banks refuse to open bank account for me. I have tried almost all of them. NatWest, Barclays, HSBC, Santander,....you name it. Has anybody have the same problem? I am here on a 5 year visa. Why am I not able to open account? I have collected my BRP and on my visa sticker i...

Re: GTV-Spouse vs Dependant

Oh shoot.

I have not put my wife's name. Only my son's name. What happens now?

I have paid my fees, and the IHS surcharge, but have not submitted documents to VFS yet. Do I still have time to change? It does not allow to change after making payment.

Re: Document checklist

Hi all, I have the same question actually. I know that the checklist says we need to provide further documents, but the GTV website does not mention them. Additionally, my Indian friend says that he submitted only the endorsement letter, and his passport. That is all he has submitted and received hi...

What does National Academy exactly mean?

Hi all I am applying under peer review category of the exceptional talent visa. I have prepared my CV, personal statement and a recommendation letter from a professor I collaborate with in the UK. However, the guideline says that I need further documents, such as a proof that I am a member of a nati...
