Re: British Citizenship - Mistake being made when filling up the form

This question if answered with a Yes invites you to record the details of every single UK immigration application you have made. It asks for the following information each time you add an application. Name in which you made the application Date of application, if known Enter your reference number if...

Re: Discretion to waive the "free from immigration restrictions for the past 12 months" rule for naturalisation

Interesting. It does say that discretion can be exercised if you apply up to 9 days (less than 10 days) early. The ILR delay point is interesting and can be quite useful for some people. But it says discretion "can" be exercised rather than "must" :) The copy pasted text has lost...

Re: First passport of the baby

Hi, Probably this was asked before, I am sorry if that is the case. My baby's MN1 application is in progress and we are waiting for the decision. My wife needs to visit her home country for health reasons and planning to take the baby with her. I will stay in the UK during this period and was plann...

Re: How to Retrain BRP card before applying for British passport

BRP card must me returned within 5 days of attending British citizenship ceremony otherwise you can end up paying £1000 fine. I have paid this fine 3 weeks ago for not following rule hence please be careful. Could you please copy and paste the wording of the fine? It should be easy if this was sent...

Re: ILR application, made redundant 2 months prior to completing 5 years.

Hi Guys, Here is an update - I got an offer for a job similar to the one I was working and a lead role and with a 30% hike, the firm who gave me the job is suggesting I apply for my ILR, with my current firm details of their SOC and stuff, stating I am serving my notice period until mid-August and ...

Re: Change sponsorship dates on CoS via sponsor notes

An update for anybody who stumbles upon this via a Google search. It is my fault I pushed for the sponsoring body to contact the home office and find out before trying out the application myself. They appear to have kindly done so and fed this back to us. Basically, there is a question in the applic...

Change sponsorship dates on CoS via sponsor notes

My wife's CoS was issued for longer than 3 years by mistake (she does not need the 3 years as will be eligible for ILR in a year). The longer CoS duration will attract higher application fees (double). The sponsoring institution would now like to correct this by adding a sponsor note. This obviously...

Re: British Naturalisation Form AN does not ask about children

For me, it is an oversight. The team that has done the application form and specific rules regarding the English exams has made errors. https://www.gov.uk/english-language/approved-english-language-qualifications According to this, I could have used my B1 qualification from 2017 in my ILR applicatio...

Re: British Naturalisation Form AN does not ask about children

Another question please. During my ILR application - I was asked this question: Have you previously been granted leave to remain under Tier 2 (General) as a doctor, dentist, nurse or midwife, and passed an English Language assessment accepted by the relevant regulated professional body as a requirem...

British Naturalisation Form AN does not ask about children

Just filled out my form AN online and double checked it. It does ask one about pretty much everything. However, there is nothing in it that asks about whether you have any children. Have I missed something? My child was born here and was subsequently registered as a British citizen when I got my ILR...

Naturalization of parent and registration of child as British citizen at same time?

After a year of having ILR, I know I will become eligible to apply for consideration of naturalization via form AN (I have less than 10 months left). My child was born in the UK last year, prior to me getting settled status. He is eligible for registration using MN1 now that I have my ILR. My questi...

MN1 Application for Infant. Referee personal details.

Hi, my application for ILR has been successful today. I am working on the MN1 application for my UK born infant now that one of the parents is settled (myself). I think the nursery will certainly provide the required references. We are on very good terms with them and all the staff. However, I feel ...

ILR on sick leave

Hi, I am about to submit my application. The application form is out of date. It does ask you whether you are on paternity or maternity leave (for salary purposes I am sure). However, that specific bit does not include sick leave so i answered no. Although I am pretty sure its just an outdated appli...

Re: Impact of unauthorized leave on ILR application

I have asked a solicitor online who said that it is fine if they issue a letter confirming my employment details and salary without eluding to all leaves being approved/or no unauthorized leave. They feel that I'm overthinking and it is true that there is probably a degree of overthinking. However, ...

Impact of unauthorized leave on ILR application

I am going to further discuss this with my previous employer but it appears that I have unauthorized paid leave according to them of 3 weeks duration. I know there is a conflict with the combination of unauthorized and paid so I don't know how that happened. My understanding at the time was that thi...

ILR application on half pay sick pay?

Hi, Am I able to apply for ILR if I'm on half pay due to sick leave? Or should I defer it until I'm back to work on full pay? And if I can't apply on half pay - When I'm back to work on full pay, how many payslips of full pay do I need? Is it just a one month payslip of full pay before applying? Tha...

Traveling before receiving my BRP

Hi, I just got leave for a year after applying for a skilled worker visa. However, my BRP has not arrived yet. Due to the nature of my job, I can only get assigned AL/holiday blocks and my AL starts in a few days. This cannot be changed due to on-call commitments. Now I haven't seen any family for m...

Withdraw and re-apply for priority application

Hello, I have started a job in a hospital about a week ago after making an application for a health and care visa. Due to covid and pressures, we basically don't have to wait for the BRPs to be issued before starting. A CoS and proof of visa application is enough to start/establish right to work. I ...
