If a woman marries a Turkish man in Turkey, the women automatically receives Turkish nationality. (At least it used to be like that) Hi, Read article 5 and 42 of this law: I never signed anything or made any declaration regarding Turkish nationality when we got married. So how would you interpret t...

I agree with most of the things posted till now. One HATE thing I'd like to add is the Irish health system . They only have GP's all around the place and no specialists. You're pregnant, you go to a GP. Your skin itches, you go to a GP. You've got strong headache, you go to a GP again. In Germany I ...

I don't think that it is good news if a spouse of a German citizen still needs a visa to go to Germany. I have a family and friends in Germany who we want to visit......

Re: Visiting Germany with 4EUFam card

I'm German with a Turkish husband who just got his 4EUFam card today. We both live and work in Ireland. I checked Germany's visa rules and it states that spouses of EU-nationals but NOT Germans who have this 4EUFam card do not need a visa if they are travelling together. Do you have a web link to w...

Re: same here

Off topic: Heike, if you were a German citizen at the time of your son's birth, he is probably a German citizen as well, and can get a German passport. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_nationality_law#Descent_from_a_German_parent which also has references to the relevant legal texts. ... I h...

Hi Directive, I would agree with the above, that as long as he is with his EU-Family member he should not need a visa for Germany. However, the embassy here (again confirmed by the Dep. of Foreign Affairs) still insists he DOES need one if our son is not travelling with us!? It is not sufficient tha...

Anyways, they confirmed that he will not need a ...
