Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Yes, I was getting a bit worried about the delay between 'address confirmation' and 'congratulations' emails since I replied to the former pretty promptly, and wondered if some last minute problems had been discovered with my documents that would see the whole lot rejected, or if the certificate wa...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I 100% agree, Whip. What do we know about their activity at the moment? Are the DFA increasing the number of FBR applications they are getting through? Wish we knew more about what's going on! Unfortunately, most of what I know is coming from here, and even the last day or two have changed that sto...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

It is frustrating but I think we all have a lot of company. I think we just have to hang in there and hope that they continue to work through these applications. Best to everyone. I have very much appreciated this community as we all wait. Yes, this is the way. It's clear at this stage there's litt...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The timelines for completion really aren't making much sense right now. My documents were also received in October '19, and I'm one of the 'lucky' ones who received a confirmation of address email this month. That said, based on every other timeline here, my certificate should already be on the way....

Wow, big news for the December drop-off crowd!

Hopefully more timely updates to come, and that the congratulations / certificate shipped message isn't far behind.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hey Dolewhip! At least there was some progress, right? I would be so thrilled to see that notification for my son (June 2019 applicant). We are feeling completely abandoned by FBR staff... hope is really getting dim. Agreed, it's a better update than nothing! Just sort of a double-edged sword, give...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Heya Dolewhip! I think the Confirmation of Address email means that they are processing your certificate and are checking that they have the correct address to send it out to - so it's good news! I'm definitely hoping it's good news! The issue is that a few members here (including jgclancy) receive...

No new update on my situation, but since it's been 9 days since receiving (and replying to) the address confirmation email, I'm pretty curious what's going to happen next. I asked the dfa officer for a tracking number and copied it into my usps informed digest and make sure I was around ☺️
Great idea, thank you! However long it takes to get that address confirmation email (could be next week; could be in five months), will keep this in mind.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

A certified copy counts as an original. All, certificates are copies by definition as they are a copy of the official register held by the register office. You should be fine. Cheers, that's helpful. I know I'm 100% eligible and submitted everything necessary, but seeing later applications start to...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I think you didn’t need to send in all those documents aside from your parents FBR certificate. As in, did you send in previous generation certificates from grandparents and great grandparents? From my understanding if the previous generation is on the FBR then they don’t need to go further generat...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Sounds like the best timeline one could ask for right now - congrats! Question: how was the certificate mailed to you, and did you have to sign for it? Not that it matters at the moment (still waiting for address confirmation email), but I’m going to be traveling for about 4 weeks in September, and...
