Hi Guyz, My case (atleast as per me) is a bit peculiar... hvnt seen any one n such a messed up situation....... I was on a student visa where my visa was my expiring the 29th Feb... Applied for HSMP (initial) in Jan, which I withdrew on 25th Feb... Reasons being, one I hv urgent travel arrangements ...

I think if your application is processed after 29th, you will be granted 2 years or else 1 year. But so far no solid news from HO about the post study work visa. Thanks for your help/Advise. Actually, they didn't even give me right to appeal. So,is it still possible for me to go against HO through court. Cheers I am not sure if they didnt give you the right to appeal.... better go and get some advice from any immigration consultant.... there are some consul...

Sorry to hear your situation.... I would suggest you to go and see a immigration consultant (who should be a registered solicitor with the HO), explain the situation and show the proof of your first application you made, and appeal for the visa in the court against the Home-Office...... which ofcour...

I would be reluctant to withdraw anything at this stage. Why not apply for IGS and just see if they accept it or not? I can't see that there is anything to lose other than the application fee. Yeah, annoying isn't it? Victoria I spoke to one another solicitor just 2mins ago (immigration free advise solicitor) who told me that HSMP and IGS are not supposed to be made at the same time.... he suggested me to withdraw my HSMP applicatio and apply for the IGS through the solicitor channel.......

I believe that you can apply for both at the same time, as the IGS is an application for further leave, the HSMP is only an immigration employment document which has no effect on your visa status. Dear all, I have sent an email to HO to know the update of my HSMP Application. Will they update me via email??? or i call them? reason being, if I dont get a job say in the next 3 months, and If I dont make enough gross/net over the financial yr 2008-09, it might cause a problem in the future to apply for a fresh HSMP......... snt it?

Just wait for few more days. If your Initial approval is not available in your hand atleast 2 days before your current Visa expiry then you can and must submit InTime FLR application referring to that HSMP reference number. my situation has become a nail biting situation....... my existing visa is expiring end of this month and still awaiting my HSMP initial approval... HO call centre ppl says the same old rules, cant give out any updates on the application....
