Marriage certificate required for first passport application?

My husband will hopefully become Irish in the coming months and, on receiving his certificate of naturalization, will apply for his first passport. In preparation, I’ve been looking at the list of supporting documents required for someone in his situation (naturalised Irish citizen, living abroad). ...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Clutching at straws here but I couldn’t help
noticing that a couple of people on this thread received invitations to the December ceremonies as late as Thursday 14 December! ie just 5 days before the last ceremony on 19 December.
Hope springs eternal…..

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

I’m really curious how they decide whom to invite. You would assume it would be first-come-first-served and yet, as we’ve seen, that’s not the case. Could it be that the selection process is completely random?

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Hi Chriswickstead

If it’s any consolation, my husband is in exactly the same boat. His payment was processed on 20 December. And so far no invitation.
I too was desperately hoping they’re issuing them in batches….!

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Who knows? My husband’s payment was processed on the day of the last December ceremony and I was really hoping he would be invited to this next one but now I’m wondering whether there’s a backlog. Will let you know as soon as we hear anything (if we hear anything!). Less than 2 weeks to go so surely...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

OK I am wildly excited now. I wonder will they issue the invitation by email or post. We’re in France and post can be very slow. Yikes.

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

If it’s first half of March, they’ll have to get their skates on. We’re already 8 Feb and from what I gather they announce it a good month in advance. I’d love to accompany my husband (he’s the wannabe citizen) but I’m working full time and we’re abroad so it would be great to have a bit of notice. ...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Anyone like to take a bet on when the next ceremony will be? And where?

I’m thinking second half of March. In Killarney.

How to pay initial processing fee

Morning everyone. I’m new to this forum. Am in the process of compiling an application for Irish citizenship through naturalisation for my husband. It’s a non-standard application as we are permanently resident abroad because of my work. I will be visiting family in Northern Ireland in October. One ...
