Re: January 2014 - Naturalization Application Timeline

That sounds a bit extreme to me. I actually have a feeling once the October rush is over, applications will turn back faster.

Parents on ILR can go for fast track passport for their child. ETA 3-4 days. Worked fine for us so speaking from experience.

Hi Sysnerul,

My wife is in the exact same situation, can you reveal what are you planning to do to get the passport in your married name?

Please also update the group as and when things happen in your case.

Re: Can my daughter get admission in Indian School

Agree with pennylessindia here, I have myself got an admission for my daughter in an Indian school, when we go back, we will all be british. This does not matter for schooling, when you talk about higher education, fees and opportunity depends on the state you are living in. In Pune (Maharashtra), t...

Re: Visiting NCS Tomorrow

For LIUK remember to carry the same id proof as you used at the time of the test.
Also better to carry any approval letters etc from HO that you may have received in the past. My Ncs person took copies of all letters I had, said provides context to case worker.

Infants passport should take 3-4 days if you go for the in-person fast track option.

Not sure about the regular postal method.

OK, thanks for explaining. My plans are exactly like yours, but I am not sure about the legality of this, so am currenly sticking to the OCI plan. I would recommend talking to some immigratiojn lawyer in India, or taking this in writing from FRRO. I have already crossed the point of no return, maybe...

Thanks gols, I am sure that my son is allowed to keep both the PP till 18, so I carry PP's always withme. Immigration officer also told that it is a new rule so not many people know this. Do you have any official link/email about this? Thats exactly my point, its a new rule (if it is!), so you might...

Why would you do that mate, why would you put your kids in that kind of jeopardy? The way I see it there are only 2 real options: 1) Take British passport for them, surrender Indian passport, get OCI. 2) Do not take British passport, retail Indian passport and go for RoA. Out of the 2, I would still...

Hi Humanvoid,

Sorry to confuse you :). The firstname+middilename bit appears in the passport under "given name" which I reckon is the first name, the surname appears under "Family name/Last name".

At least thats how it is in the Indian passport.

Thanks humanvoid. Glad all went well. Now I am a bit confused. I mean how sure you are of NCS' competency. ...

Hi Suis, She took the general IELTS. Minimum score is 4, she scored 8.5 overall, so no problems there. Its not hard to pass IELTS, but I feel its too cumbersome for a simple English test, go for this instead: http://englishexamcentres.co.uk/b1-esol-entry-level-3.html I should have gone for this for ...
