Assuming you are a visa national ... don't you need a valid visa to return to the UK from your country if you don't want to use your British passport? Could still show ILR even I guess if it was in an old passport. Obviously it wouldn't be valid, but I don't think it would be possible for other cou...

ILR at present is at it implies...Indefinate. However, as you've been advised, if you were to leave the UK for more than 2 years, you'd lose your ILR. At present, with ILR there is no obligation to apply for British Citizenship. However, when Probationary Citizenship replaces ILR in July 2011 (inte...

Unfortunately your mother is too young to get a visa as a parent unless she was living in most exceptional compassionate circumstances which you haven't suggested she is. Also the fact you want to bring her here to work won't help your case - full-time child care is work even if it is done by a rela...

@djb123 I think most recently the application process has been very quick this might not show in the different processing times. but not long ago when it was taking months rather than weeks I think there may very well have been a more significant and more apparent difference between NCS and postal....

NCS doesn't speed it up, it's just any mistakes in the application may be spotted earlier. The Home Office deny that using NCS speeds matters up. However the evidence on Boards such as this is rather different. As I just said I know someone who didn't use NCS who got their application approved with...

Unless you are married to (or in Civil Partnership with) a British Citizen you must have had your ILR for at least one year when you apply for your Naturalisation. So question ..... when did you get your ILR? Go to this UKBA webpage , have a read of that, and then download the form AN and the Guide...

Did you apply for british citizenship first and include the naturalisation certificate you received at the ceremony with your passport application? If so you should receive a letter inviting you to arrange a passport identity interview fairly quickly, maybe within a few weeks or so.

I think you will struggle with a family visit visa now as they are likely to refuse him on the grounds that they believe that he is unlikely to leave the UK before his visa expires.
