Re: Route to Citizenship - Spouse of British Citizen

Using my experience as an American. A spouse visa is 5 years. You have settlement, then FLR(m) after 2.5 years, then ILR after 2.5 years. So although it says "after 3 years" it just means you can apply for citizenship immediately after obtaining ILR. When applying for citizenship you have ...

Re: Any BC spouses still waiting for Naturalisation approval for 3+ months?

I had hoped to go on holiday with my family but that’s not likely to happen now. Sending love to everyone still waiting and hope we get a response soon! x You still hold ILR with your BRP and all documentation. There is nothing stopping you going on holiday while the application is taking place. I ...

Re: NO RESPONSE FROM HO REGARDING BC APPLICATION

What people mean by media is the newspapers. Write to the Daily Mail etc. Write again to your MP saying it's unacceptable etc. I don't understand why you're asking to write to the Home Secretary. Just do it. Nothing to lose. But don't CC her. Just write direct ensure your provide all your informatio...

Hi all, Applying for a British passport after receiving my naturalisation certificate. When you fill everything in online it asks for documents: - naturalisation certificate - passport used to enter UK - current and expired passport. I cannot find the passport used to enter the UK with. This is the ...

Re: Awaiting Passport Supporting Docs after 4 weeks

Thank you.

Who did your MP email as I've emailed my MP and they've had no response from the home office.

Any advice would be appreciated as travelling next week and will be unable to travel the passport in the supporting documents.

Re: Awaiting Passport Supporting Docs after 4 weeks

It's been 5 weeks now. How are supporting documents sent back? I paid for secure delivery but not sure if that applies to passport, supporting documents or both? Can anybody clarify? Passport delivery is by default secured. If you paid £5, your supporting docs will come via secured delivery as well...

Awaiting Passport Supporting Docs after 4 weeks

Hi all. Received British passport for my daughter over 4 weeks ago. She is dual citizen so submitted her American passport as part of the application. We travel to America in just two weeks and we’re STILL waiting for her passport back (supporting docs). I call up, I get generic responses from peopl...

Re: Anyone fined £1000 for not returning BRP?

If you intend on travelling and are worried why are you applying now?

You also need your passport to travel, that's added time after your ceremony due to being allowed to board. Seems you're giving yourself a headache over just waiting?

Re: Anyone fined £1000 for not returning BRP?

When your say your wife and daughter are applying BC today, do you mean naturalisation application? Naturalisation applications take months in my experience. I doubt you'll get a reply anytime before 3 months but never say never. My wife received her invitation to a ceremony four weeks after her ap...

Re: Travel with Indian Passport when British Passport is processing

As TickTack says, something has to give. You cannot travel with your Indian passport while your British was is being processed as you must send your Indian passport as part of your passport application. So you can't come back from Peru and hope to have your British passport through the post. Your on...

Re: Naturalisation

Strictly speaking you should not be travelling without a British passport.

However, others have done it with showing their certificate upon entry. Is there allowance? Is it luck? Who knows.

It's your call. You should have put off your ceremony until after your travel :!:

Sopra Steria Advice (UKVCAS)

Hi all, I'm in the process of submitting documents. I have some questions I'd appreciate urgent help on. 1) It says to upload in B&W. Is this okay? Is it okay to submit in color? Seems wrong to be in B&W. 2) When scanning things such as passport does this mean scanning each page or bio page?...
