You can do FOI after twelve months. Completely unacceptable how long they take.
Thanks, I thought it was 2 years. That's probably 2 years for judicial review then? Maybe if by the end of Q1 we haven't heard anything I'll do the FOI request.

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2021 Pending Approval

My wife nonEU 5 years, applied July 2021 got FOI response: application continue processing (the same as my response). She got acknowledgement November 2021 and nothing more... How many people in that from 2021? I applied July 2021 completed e-vetting at least. My husbands application went in Sept 2...

Is anyone else who applied in Sept/Oct 2021 still waiting to even receive evetting?
We applied on the 26th of September 2021 and so far have only received an acknowledgement letter in May 2022, nothing else since then.

6 Week Absence After Applying for Citizenship

Just wondering about the 6 week rule on absences after applying for Citizenship. I thought I saw previously on the forum that it only counts full dates outside the country, and not the date you depart/return. Does anyone know if this is the case or no? E.G fly out Monday return Sunday would that cou...

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2021 Pending Approval

Guys just relax. There is almost no one that has been approved that applied after June 2021. If u follow closely approvals are for all applicants until May. I saw one for Nov and one who applied in 2022. But there is a lot of people in the 2021 thread who have not had approvals , nor a vetting. I f...

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2021 Pending Approval

I have a theory that applications based on spouse of Irish citizens are not prioritised. And that (all?) other applications are prioritised. I would have thought that they were prioritised since they let them away with 3 years residence instead of the standard and also because they have a family re...

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2021 Pending Approval

We are the same, applied in September 2022. Passport received in Nov 22. Acknowledgement and receipt received first few days of June (actually the day before we went on holiday) and was dated 25th of May. Nothing since then, but I've seen on the timeline people who applied in October/November have a...

Stamp 4 Entry/Exit without spouse

Hi All, This might seem like a silly question. My husband has to go on a business trip. His employer is sending him because its in the US and hes a US Citizen anyway so a lot easier. A lot of the people on his team would need a visa for the US. He has a Stamp 4 on the basis of being married to me (I...

Honestly I'm not absolutely certain the answer apologies, but I was sure they were mandatory. Maybe someone else can confirm. We haven't even had an acknowledgement letter yet so its not a concern for us, but we will be on holiday during the dates of this ceremony. Its in June like, prime holiday ti...

Re: How long do I have to know a witness for Irish passport application and can I use a health professional

If the witness had to be personally known to you, lots of people would also have this issue. My husband doesn't ever attend a doctor/pharmacy/nurse. The dentist we attend has a different dentist each time you go. We don't know anyone in any of these professions. That's the point in having a peace co...

Re: Really worried now about Luas fine - 45 €

I wouldn't even mention this on a citizenship application honestly...I know you need to report everything but sometimes people go overboard honestly. I know someone who was fined by Irish Rail and didn't pay it and it went to court and they paid it on the day in court to avoid any further penalty. T...

Re: Spouse of Irish National - Criminal Offense

We have never filled out any forms, never had any letters from INIS, never been asked if either of us were married before, never been asked about convictions etc. At the last renewal they didn't even ask to see our marriage cert again or my passport. They only took my husbands to put a stamp in it h...

Re: Spouse of Irish National - Criminal Offense

As an American citizen there is no visa to apply. Once/if they marry, they just need to make an appointment with their local immigration officer and present their passports, marriage certificate and if I recall correctly, proof of joined residency. The application is only for spouses joining from V...

Re: How long does it take Gnib to arrive?

Does anyone else have any recent experience on how long the GNIB card took to arrive? We have my husbands renewal this weekend (outside Dublin) so we bring all the documents with us and get approval (or not) on the day. Normally its just 2 weeks after this for the card to arrive. Absence from State after Citizenship Application

I have a query regarding being absent from the state following citizenship application. If you are outside the State for longer than 6 weeks after you submit your application, you must notify ISD by letter or email to explain why. That very much reads to me that if you are outside Ireland for more t...

Recent IRP Renewal Outside Dublin

Hi All,

I was just wondering from anyone renewed their IRP Card outside Dublin within the last 6 months or so.
So for those who renew in their local Garda Station etc.
After the renewal appointment, how long did it take to receive your new card?
