Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Here are exact dates involved: 18 July 2022 successfully completed the passport application. 26 July 2022 supporting documents received Boston to Dublin So the processing time gets measured from the later date. Thanks was just curious. I live in San Diego, and I'm at 18 days and counting with the r...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Could anyone who already has their passport or applied please give their dates? I'm curious if the 20 Business days turnaround is actually to be believed, because after the FBR turnaround time it without a doubt seems too good to be true. :? Check out the "First Time Passport Application Timel...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Getting that Irish passport. While the process is no where near as long as FBR, the passport processing time appears to be growing. There is tracking which is welcomed however the vertical status bar is deceiving as in my case the column filled and then “retracted” quite a bit. My estimated time wa...

Re: FBR Proof of Address

Hey guys, first time writing here. I applied back in feb of 2020 and just about a month ago received the email asking about the address. After replying i stopped hearing back from the FBR team. Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

This may be a silly question, but I've heard reference to it. I submitted my first passport application recently after FBR approval. Are applications prioritized based on citizenship sources? In other words are passport applications of FBR citizens prioritized below other citizens? Doesn't really m...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Should I be concerned that I never received a document received email? Docs sent Dec 2020… just had a look on the Google doc and seen others who sent around this time received email confirmation back in early 2021. Re: Foreign Birth Registration

To date the amount of FBR registered people since 1956 stands at around 250,000, most of whom did not register before the next generation being born, while that maybe significant in regards to Irelands population its a tiny number to the population of the UK and USA, and would not cause a "swa...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I was wondering, when my name is in the FBR that would signify that I am a Irish citizen born in another country , correct? If so could my adult son apply for his Irish citizenship seeing he was born to me? No, your son would not be eligible for Irish citizenship since your Irish citizenship throug...

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

Quick question, those of you in the USA, when you sent your documents to Dublin, which mail service did you use?

USPS registered mail? or Fedex, DHL or UPS?

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello all, first-time poster here :D Having done lots of research into my family and Irish citizenship, I am eligible to apply for it through the FBR (grandparent born in Ireland) and have spent the last few weeks/months getting all of the certificates and docs I need (which I now have, phew). I'm ...

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

This may be a silly or obvious question, but I see lots of folks referencing that they sent a "certified" or "official" copy of their passport, what does that mean? Is it a witnessed copy?

I'd prefer not to send my actual US passport off for 2 months if I don't need to.
