Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Daughter's certificate arrived today - she now has a right to Irish citizenship.

Also got all the documents back so I can apply for an Irish passport myself when UK one expires.

A long journey but she has her Freedom of Movement back!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just had the Email to say daughter's application has been approved and the certificate is on its way!

After two years.

I don't know if she has any immediate plans to use it - but she can now apply for jobs offering them the bonus of EU passport eligibility.

Wowee!! Confirmation of address Email for my application for my daughter! Can't remember the exact dates as didn't receive a receipt of documents but they were sent between Christmas and New Year 2020. Daughter is now over 18 but I didn't receive a request to transfer to her Email as an earlier pos...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

A week ago I pop in and they jumped from March to May. Now they are on October? They aren't half zooming through are they. Makes me, a January 2022 applicant quite optimistic for hearing back potentially next year. Last time I checked a few weeks ago they'd only just got through February. Can't bel...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

It seems like they're getting through March faster than they got through January and February. So some good news.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Should I be concerned that I never received a document received email? Docs sent Dec 2020… just had a look on the Google doc and seen others who sent around this time received email confirmation back in early 2021. If the last two years have been a waste and my documents are lost I’m gonna cry 🙃😫 I...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Still claiming that things will be speeded up this year but I'm sure we all have our doubts.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Couple of bits of info in the latest questions to the Minister concerned. Still claiming that the process will be "scaled up" with the recruitment of additional resources - however this line has been spun since January. Makes reference to an application being received in December 2020 and ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello there, this is my first post and I'm kind of freaking out. I sent in an application for registration of a foreign birth quite some time ago, and I'm really worried that something has gone wrong. I should have checked in on things sooner, but maybe I resigned myself to the fact that the proces...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I found this info: there were 16,000 applications in 2020 and 11,000 in 2021. Sent off for daughter in December 2020 so suppose I can hope the bulk of the applications were sent early in the year and things might speed up a bit later on. https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/question/2022-01-19/653/#...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

love seeing the wave of 2020 applications going through! At this rate, I think they'll prolly get to mine in the December 2020 pile end of this year/beginning of next. Congrats to all the new citizens! The one I did for my daughter should also be in that pile! I'm hoping there are no issues with it...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi People Good to know that things have reopened. I sent off documents for my daughter in December 2020 - the office shut down when they were in the post so presumably they've been held somewhere. I know they don't send confirmation of receipt although I've kept the proof of delivery. My question is...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi everyone, I made my online FBR application in Oct 2020, however by the time I was able to get the documents witnessed the website updated to say that we shouldn't send our supporting documentation. It's now coming up to a year since I paid the fee and did the application, however I still have al...
