Re: Long Term Irish Visa for Naturalised Citizens who don't have Irish Passport

As an Irish Citizen, I don't think there's any category of Visa you can apply for. You don't need a Visa to enter or stay in Ireland, just your citizenship, the easiest way to prove your entitlement to this is with an Irish Passport.

Re: Irish Citizenship Application - Tax Clearance Cert NI

Someone in the thread called HRMC and got a letter confirming their tax affairs are in order, maybe try that route? They must of got very lucky because i have phoned them 3 times and spoken to 3 different people and they could not help me because they said HMRC does not give these certs out. Thanks...

Re: Moving to Northern Ireland & Naturalisation application

I am an irish citizen. My wife applied based on this. Does this change things? Yep, your wife just has to reside on the "island of Ireland" to naturalise as an Irish citizen in that case....might be worth advising the citizenship service that your answer to questions 6.1/6.2 (about where ...

Re: Moving to Northern Ireland & Naturalisation application

Hi all We are planning on moving to Northern Ireland however we have just submitted our Naturalisation application after living in the Republic for 7 years. Will moving to Northern Ireland affect our application?? Unless you're married to an Irish citizen, the naturalisation process states that you...

Re: Northern Ireland non-EU resident applying for Irish Citizenship via marriage

Do not use the residence calculator to prove your residence in Ireland. You cannot use the calculator because (as a UK, EU/EEA or Swiss national) your passport is not stamped with immigration permission stamps. That's an odd answer, given that you're not "a UK, EU/EEA or Swiss national", ...

Re: Naturalization Application - Preparation Questions

One more question. Did you fill the form 8 by hand? Or you use any PDF editor to type the information out? Thank you I found the form filling features in the current version of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader worked very well. They recognised most of the fields, and the few that it didn't were easy t...

Re: American Citizen with Stamp 1G, working in UK

It sounds like you might need to find an Irish agency to employ them, pay relevant Irish Tax and invoice you instead. That could be okay if they're going to work remotely? All that, doesn't necessarily entitle them to enter the UK to work, that would be a whole other issue that you'd have to look fo...

Re: Northern Ireland non-EU resident applying for Irish Citizenship via marriage

Proof of Residency - Online vs Post. Can online PDFs of a bank statement/utility bill be used, or must they be photocopies of a statement delivered via post? I printed out PDFs and sent them. If you're concerned you could print them out and then photocopy them? I'd be surprised if anyone could tell...

Re: Northern Ireland non-EU resident applying for Irish Citizenship via marriage

Firstly, good luck! I had a lot of similar questions as a British Citizen living in Northern Ireland, the form and guidance seems rather orientated around the assumption that you live in the Irish State, and detail for what NI applicants should do is sorely missing. I emailed the citizenship service...

Re: partner refused by UK, now i want to try irish route

As far as I'm aware, a visa issued by the Irish state is not valid for entry into the United Kingdom, unless they're a Indian or Chinese national covered by https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/british-irish-visa-scheme/british-irish-visa-scheme Given this, I don't see how/why the Irish state ...

Re: Mysterious criminal convictions

You probably want to make a Subject Access Request from https://www.acro.police.uk/Subject-Access-Online.aspx which should tell you everything the police hold about you, rather than a police certificate (which is intended for use for applying for a visa/citizenship for a country other than the UK).

Re: Citizenship fee for Northern Ireland or outside Ireland residents

I don't think there are any grounds to apply to naturalise from outside Ireland, so the question really is solely about Northern Ireland. I paid my fees from Northern Ireland recently (in August). I found a friend with a Danske Bank current account, and went into a branch with them and got them to a...

Re: UK visa for spouse of irish citizisen

I think the EEA family permits are only meant for people going to settle in the UK. You just need to apply for the relevant VISA for visiting the UK as a tourist https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor In the longer term, if you've lived together in Ireland for over 3 years, your wife should be looking ...

Re: Application for naturalisation - form 8 CTZ3 version 6.1 and 6.2

Oh, how odd....The current form does indeed seem to be version 6.1, and looking at the link, it looks like it was changed to that in October 2021. Is there any difference between the forms? Or just the guidance? I'd be tempted to submit completed form 6.1, but with a tax clearance certificate anywa...
