Re: citizenship application form - marriage

The citizenship application form states 3 year residency requirement if applicant is married to british citizen. However, the application form asks that addresses for last 5 years be listed. Why would previous 5 years of addresses be required if application pertains to 3 year residency per the marr...

It is an indictment on the human race when the sanctity of life especially that of an innocent child takes second place to politics, and economics. Justice (and immigration policy) should be tempered with mercy, it is easy for people who are born into a developed country through no effort of their ...

It is a sad case no matter which way you look at it. However, correct me if I am wrong, this disease is something you are born with. If the child had been born in his country of origin how long would he have survived? The child was born here, so I do not see why that is actually pertinent FrontierM...

Anyone having to write that test should take the time to study properly. As this is the big bad internet, we have no way of knowing whether anyone is being truthful or not. Also, what works for one person, may not work for another. I find it rather incredible that reading all those chapters O...

It is important to save all bills/utilities. Try putting the utilities in joint names. That's very helpful to her application. A joint bank account helps. Same for joint tenancy agreement.

It is possible that the Life in the UK test is done for the ILR application to counteract the fear/theory that people would not bother to apply for citizenship, and so, never have to take the test. By moving it forward, to the ILR application stage, you are forced to take the test, even if you never...

It might be an idea to apply sooner, rather than later. From what I know, the HO has been increasing their fees consistently. For those who not EEA nationals, they still have to apply for visas to visit other European countries. It's an annoying process and a waste of half a dayor more. :?

Is this law/rule still in place ie. when you lodge your application for citizenship, you must have been present in the UK FIVE YEARS AGO EXACTLY?? Yes. Or three years, if the spouse or civil partner of a British citizen. For this purpose, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man count as United Kingdom....
