Re: E vetting and citizenship application

Have you applied as EU OR Non EU citizen ? I applied in Nov 2020 and got e-vetting request letter about a week ago. My wife applied in Dec 2019 and was approved without e-vetting. As far as I know (I was reading about it somewhere), if you applied before May 2021 then you might get e-vetting letter ...

Re: E vetting and citizenship application

May I ask, does your non EU friend applied around same time as you or was it before you ?? I think PCC and e-vetting are different in a way , PCC is asked randomly or long time outside Ireland for checking from second county (ex. home country). E-vetting is for Garda check in Ireland. It could be EU...

Re: Passport Renewal during pending citizenship application

ISD gets 10000 applications every year and with a processing time of 23 months there will be a certain number of passports expiring or renewed every year - its not possible those all applications will be rejected. It doesn't matter if your passport number change, your identity, and nationality will ...

Re: E vetting and citizenship application

Is someone you referring to is EU or UK citizen? Looks like EU citizens applied end of 2020 have started receiving vetting forms as the teams and queues of EU and non-EU applications are different. Hi all I applied Oct 2020 (Non-EU, 5 yrs Stamp 1+4) and have not received any e-vetting request :( Doe...

Re: Can my brother come though me(Irish Citizenship) to Ireland for work/stay?

You said, he was in India after graduation and was living with you earlier - I assume he is graduated from Ireland - doesn’t he has study visa ( stamp 2 - I guess) valid for 2 years after graduation ? Cannot he come on that visa and stay with you and also search for job to apply for CSEP or look for...

Re: Going on holiday after naturalisation application

Just to add on previous post, it’s my understanding: So I’m assuming as defination of years before application is submitted is annual( ex. march - march ) and not fiscal year ( jan -dec) should remain same, after application is submitted, also but I could be wrong too . Look at this thread, point 2 ...

Re: Going on holiday after naturalisation application

Look at this thread, point 2 and reply from littlerr , how residency is calculated !!, it’s not fiscal year, it’s year from date person signed the declaration. I think , whether continuous residency final year or other year , logic of calculation is same I think, there are lot of thread on this foru...

Re: Going on holiday after naturalisation application

Sorry , may be wrong choice of words but by the counter reset, I meant , suppose : 1) Applicant signed the declaration on 01 march, 2021 2) Continuous residency year will be march 20-21 and suppose applicant was away for 5 weeks , 5 days during this period ( it’s under 6 weeks ) 3) so after declarat...

Re: [Opinion] Lack of response from applicant shared in Oireachtas

Exactly like meeself2 mentioned that the applicant reached to TD to get their application status, it’s hard to understand has applicant not ever contacted directly to the department in 1 year on application status and wasn’t he told about further documents ?? I’m worried, what about other such appli...

Re: Going on holiday after naturalisation application

Date you applied is the date you and witness signed the declaration, so last year before you applied you were under 6 weeks away from country, AND, this counter resets after you apply, so from the date you applied to next 1 year you can travel outside for up to 6 weeks with no issues . Hi all I am d...

Re: No Second Letter Anymore? Citizenship app.

I do agree with you, it’s frustrating waiting over a year but no real update or status and above that no way to know how long more the wait is!! I think I read on the forum, if you did FOI once then they may reject another FOI done again after some time, so if applicants do FOI just after 1 year ( b...

Could it be possible the timeframe is reverted back to 12 months in November and earlier Mid of 2021 was 23 months in acknowledgment letter , is there no one received 23 months processing time as per acknowledgment letter and it’s only on website ? I think that letter is outdated (time wise), the of...

Re: No Second Letter Anymore? Citizenship app.

If you read the ISD, it says Currently it takes 23 months approximately for a straightforward application to be processed from the date it is received to the date a decision is made. So time starts from the date application is received. 1 year is too early to request FOI in my opinion, current proce...

I'm gonna complete 1 year waiting in a couple of weeks and I haven't heard anything back from them apart getting my passport and my first letter back. I'm actually thinking of doing a FOI just to see what they achieved in 1 year.

Re: Spouse Naturalisation Application - Absence in last 5 or 3 years - Interpretation of Form 8 Question 5.6

You can email and ask the ISD but if the forms ask 5 years detail , I won’t assume and give 3 years information as it will be false information and can impact your application.

Re: Why the wait before clarification attempt?

I think, most of the time if you write them an email for status within first year of application submit- they wont even reply to your email as its been stated in acknowledgment letter that straightforward application takes 12 month and to contact only if its necessary. And, after one year you write ...
