Re: Scorecard is a positive development

Well I think that the issue here is that applicants are not sure whether their application will be judged by the 2021 and before criteria, or the 2022 criteria with the scorecard. Nowhere in the announcement is it actually written that ''Only applications received from January 2022 onwards will be p...

Re: Scorecard is a positive development

5 years later, I have been told "providing 6 months of bank statement is a really valuable thing". Good luck finding your bank statements from 5 years ago, that has 6 months record in it for every single year. Yes maybe I can visit bank branch and try to print them out or maybe they will ...

Re: Scorecard - Residency Proofs

I thought that social welfare payments, be it means tested or not, can be paid directly into your bank account, and you wouldn't need to collect at the post office anymore.

Re: New scoreboard approach is foolish

It seems, Jumbo Breakfast Role, that you are completely swayed only towards the 'side' of the government, from the way that you speak here - meaning that you do not seem to see all sides of the argument. Are you even an applicant for citizenship, or any other applicant, for a Visa, and so on? If you...

Re: New scoreboard approach is foolish

I think it will be of benefit to remember that INIS did not create the scorecard according to EU and non-EU's peoples' and applicants' feelings and emotions over the citizenship system that currently exists. Whether EU, or non-EU or whoever in that case, chooses or not chooses Ireland, the scorecard...

Re: New scoreboard approach is foolish

Ouch, you have to have a mortgage statement or a registered tenancy? I own my house and paid cash, so no mortgage. Would showing the deed suffice? You really need to get some legal advice on that so you can be 100% sure, and be told what kind of rights you have and what alternative proof (if needed...

Re: Certified colour copy of passport

The notice from 31 of December 2021 advises the following: "From 1 January 2022, new applicants for citizenship will not be required to submit their original passport with the initial application. Instead, they can provide a full colour copy of their entire passport" Neither the notice ab...

Re: Certified colour copy of passport

Most solicitors are still unaware of the changes. An entire passport, even blank pages must be colour copied and each copy must be certified. If you have more than one passport, same must be done with that passport as well. If you don't follow the instruction, your application may be refused as inv...

Re: Citizenship application form issue

At some point, applicants have to take a stance on how they will read the Scorecard form. If one doesn't do that, then they cannot have a logical argument running through. For example (and I will take the RTB dispute here), in the top part of the form, you can see this: ''One of …. P 60 / Employment...

Re: Citizenship application form issue

Even if you rent a room with a homeowner you must have a contract - if not just create one with the homeowner, problem solved. You do not have to be registered with RTB. It does not matter if you home shopping paying online. They asking for bank statements to see your transaction activities on your...

Only means-tested benefits will affect citizenship applications. Universal benefits and PRSI benefits won’t.
And further on, how it would it affect the application? I think this would be very interesting for people to know.

Re: Which 'system' do you think will be used? (New scorecard)

If your application was submitted before 1 Jan, you will be using the old system (although they may still request additional documents from you as part of the application process). If you submitted your application after 1 Jan, you need to follow the scorecard approach. Hello littlerr, thank you fo...

Which 'system' do you think will be used? (New scorecard)

I am just wondering, if someone has applied with the 6.2 Nov 20 form (and so provided the paperwork needed for that particular application as read in the guidance notes), will the department use the 'old' way of assessment for that application, or will they apply the 'new' one with the scorecard (pu...

According to FOI my garda vetting was done in Feb 2021. In Nov I sent email to Department to update...

Re: Citizenship application and Out of the State

Thanks v much for the reply. However it is a bit unclear on the citizenship website, it says that after the application, you should not be out of the state for more than 6 weeks. Does it mean that we can not be out for more than 6 weeks in a year or in one go? If I go mid December and come back in ...

Re: Why do some get an application number and some not?

It is a common practice in the past few years. Nothing to worry about. It depends on INIS's capacity and the backlog. Normally, you should receive the passport back along with the application number. However, from time to time, whenever the backlog becomes too big, they will simply scan your passpo...

Hi all, I have been looking through the 2021 timelines, and since I am not able to start a conversation there about this, I am starting a new thread . This is a third general naturalisation related topic that you have created. https://www.immigrationboards.com/ireland/what-happens-in-case-you-don-t...
