Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I emailed the urgent enquiries email a month ago as I've become an expectant parent (due date in 7 months). I got an email reply the next day asking about the due date, then received no reply or request for proof for a month, so rang up again today. The person who answered the phone said that appli...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Probably an impossible question to answer but... I am a Sept 22 applicant - what are the predications that I will hear back sometime next year? I've seen November and December 2021 applications get their confirmation of address email on here so I'd wager there is a decent chance you'll hear back in...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Kinda gotten quiet in here over the last few weeks with regards to any new approvals so I can only assume that must mean there wasn't very many applications throughout 2021 due to the COVID shutdown. Imo a good sign.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just spoken to another person elsewhere based in the United States who is in a similar predicament to myself. Estranged from father and thus can't provide state ID. They've just been approved onto the FBR. That's two people in the last few weeks I've seen in a similar situation to me succeed. Hurrah...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Reading on the Facebook group that two people who had their documents accepted on 12th May 2021 have had their address checks today! Annoyingly I can't remember my exact date, but I think my docs were received mid-June, so perhaps not long to go now... Bloody hell. 2 days ago they were on Feb 2021....

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Update on timing & request for extra documents I submitted my application in Feb 2021. I have now received an email from the team processing my application saying I did not submit the right birth certificate for my grandparent. I sent the short version, apparently, and they needed the long vers...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Surely the processing time of 2 years has vastly come down now then? I mean if there is people from Feb 2021 reporting that they are hearing back then by this point it must have come down quite drastically? It seems to have. I was a Feb 2020 applicant, and when I got my cert it was just over 2 1/2 ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hey folks Has anyone seen this? https://www.kildarestreet.com/committees/?id=2022-11-10a.921&s=Foreign+birth#g1001 5000 applications processed in Oct of this year which is pretty incredible! Doesn't match the spreadsheet on Page 233, the minister gives a much higher (and more promising) figure....

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello there everyone, first time poster! I applied to join the foreign births register in January 2020 and heard back about my application this week. To cut a long story short, I'm a UK resident/passport holder trying to claim Irish citizenship through my grandmother who was born in the Republic. I...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

A week ago I pop in and they jumped from March to May. Now they are on October?

They aren't half zooming through are they. Makes me, a January 2022 applicant quite optimistic for hearing back potentially next year.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

So, just jumped in here after a while and WOW. Previous page is full of March applications and the page afterwards is full of May, June and July scattered all over the place? So its true then, not many people seem to have sent their applications in during the COVID lockdown, which iirc, lasted until...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I applied late 2019. For me, it was just under 2.5 years from them sending me confirmation of receiving my documents to receiving the certificate; a lot longer than it would have been, due to Covid, obviously. Hello, I just thought I would register to give you some reassurance that this was fine fo...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello, I just thought I would register to give you some reassurance that this was fine for me. I had the same circumstance and contacted them before applying and they told me the same thing. I submitted a covering letter explaining the circumstances with my application, as instructed, and had no is...
