Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Success! Mine was a very straightforward case though. FBR for my daughter based on my entry to the FBR in the months before she was born. Documents Received Email: 04/10/22 Address Check: 11/07/23 Approval: 25/07/23 As soon as I get the documents back it'll be passport applications next for me and m...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

In the FB group, I saw someone whose documents were received on 4 October 2022 has received their address check. I was glad to finally see an Oct 2022 date, as my docs were received 11 Oct. Now I'll just be checking my email obsessively for the foreseeable future... The official advice currently is...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Incredible news! My FBR application has been approved. Here's my journey: Applied online March 2021. Held off sending docs as instructed due to Covid. Found out I was pregnant, Oct 2021. Asked you lovely people for advice. Contacted Passport Webchat (FBR webchat closed) for advice. Given this email...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I got through to the passport webchat and they told me to email the FBR team. I did and got a reply!! (Overwhelmed :D ) So, I’m to send what I have now, with pregnant on the front of the application and a letter from my doc to confirm, which I hope to get early next week. I was also advised to get t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

<SNIP> Thanks. My issue is that I applied online in March but held off sending my documents because they've asked us not to. The passport expired in May. I'm furious to think I've held myself up by actually doing what they asked. I've seen others comment that it was futile sending them while proces...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thank you so much for your replies and help. They took my money in March! It's a real blow to find out I'm not in any sort of queue basically because I did what they told me (and many others) to do. This is also costing a fortune. Unfortunately, my grandfather's DOB was wrong by SIX DAYS on his dea...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

It would provide clarity if there's anyone still on the forum who has gone all the way though the FBR process and can comment on ID expiry Although this wasn't an issue for me during my application, I remember seeing this issue raised several times on this forum back then. These led to responses fr...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks. Sadly she doesn’t drive so the passport is all the official ID she has. Haven’t sent the docs yet so if they definitely won’t accept a recently expired (May 2021) certified copy of a passport then it looks like I’ll have to get hers renewed. They really should specify that the passport shou...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I've just realised my mother's passport has now expired and of course that's the certified copy I have. Do you think this will prove an issue or is it worth getting her a new one and certifying a copy of that? Thanks for your help. I'm really glad I found this board.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

They will expedite your application due to the pregnancy. How quickly depends on personal circumstances. Contact the passport office through webchat and have you application details on hand. They will advise next steps. https://www.dfa.ie/passports/contact/ [/quote] Thank you! Something tells me I m...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi everyone! I submitted my application form in March 2021, so not long ago compared to some! I’ve been dutifully waiting to send my supporting docs from the UK since. My case is a relatively straightforward one, I think. Irish granddad born in 1916 with all docs present and correct. I’ve just found...
