Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Today's the day! I'm officially Irish! What a fantastic feeling! To those feeling anxious about the wait between the address confirmation email and congrats, try not to worry. I think radio silence tends to be a good thing - it seems if there are issues they'll contact you directly. Final update: Ap...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Got my confirmation of address email on the 14th Dec, and have heard nothing since! Starting to get a little anxious about it, I won't lie. I wonder what's taking so long!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I have no idea honestly. I've been checking the forum and spreadsheet almost daily, and seeing that there were a fair few applications received ahead of mine on the spreadsheet made me think it was going to be a little while before I received any word. I received the address check that states it's n...

Now the site says applications are processed per the date supporting documents were received. Do I need to wait till asked to send docs. Or will I be asked when my tur...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

With the FBR office now processing October applications from 2020, and assuming that they keep up their current pace of review, it seems to me that those of us who submitted out applications and documents in October 2022 could feasibly our applications reviewed and (hopefully) approved in well unde...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi everyone. I've just checked the FBR google sheet, and there seems to be a load of applications missing between row 239 and 292, including mine. Does anyone know how to find these/unhide them if they're hidden? Argh! We've been deleted! You just reminded me to go update my own record and it's gon...

FBR Certificate arrived today. I'm going to be sending off everything for a passport next week or the week after (depends on how quickly I can get together with someone to have everything witnessed!)
Woohoo! Congrats!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

All they would need to do is apply for a passport, as they are Irish citizens already. You would need to get all the paperwork, which is a rigmarole in and of itself, but I'd recommend applying in case they change their policies on foreign births! To clarify, your parents don't need an Irish passpo...

I'm not sure how pertinent it is to know but I sent off my application alongside my two sisters, with one set of original documents to cover all of us.
