Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Sorry to hear, but as I'm one of those that went to the back of the line again, I can tell you even a cover letter to explain everything won't speed anything up. My clock re-started on December 31st and it's still "verifying", tracker hasn't moved. So much for hiring extra people to proces...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney has told the Dáil that the Passport Office is currently experiencing "a very high level of demand", with up to 1.7 million passport applications expected in 2022. Coveney said that there are currently 777 staff members in the Passport Office to de...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

I've read some posts farther back where witness was not contacted and passport still issued, so I have no idea if they are supposed to contact them or if it's just hit or miss if they will?

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

I can only speak for myself, but my application was received September 28th and I received my documents back on December 31st. However, my passport is still pending, but I assume that since they sent my documents back they were verified and acceptable.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

My witness was a Nurse, no stamp or business card or official letter head. I typed up a letter explaining everything and used her hospital address and had her sign that. Hope that's enough. Guess I'll know in 2 years.

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Korms, I went from verifying to processing about 10 days before my due date Dec 1. On Dec 1, my tracking bar went to 100%. Like other's, I tried web chat twice once about 2 days after deadline and then 2 weeks after deadline. I was very respectful to them and basically just asked if they had updates...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Magius, I'm in the U.S. For the application, a witness is needed to sign the application and also to verify supporting documentation such as passport, photo ID etc.. Basically, prove you are who you are. There is a specific list on their web site for approved witnesses. I used a Bank Manager who was...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

I seems for most of us lately, they are running about 2 weeks behind estimated due date. Although I was notified via email 16 days after due date (Dec 1) that they couldn't contact my witness, so I had to resend documentation and went back to the end of the line (now Due March 7). Web Chat is not ve...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

This has probably been answered before but I am submitting applications for 2 daughters. Is it ok to to put just 1 copy of the common documents needed for both (Grandmother's documents and parent documents) in one pile to be used by both daughter's? I have a 3 part folder with each daughter's applic...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Also, for those that are going past due dates, It seems they are running about 2 weeks behind due date for most. Webchat doesn't really help much other than to tell you to keep checking the tracker.

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

G Dog, Interesting that they told you to still email the no reply email. I wish I had thought of that, but web chat guy told me I had to resubmit verification form all over again via regular mail. So my forms are now heading back to Dublin again. It would have been nice of them if I got an email fir...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Are people able to get any meaningful update from online chat or call regarding application status. All they have been saying to me is application under process. I've web chatted twice now, both times they said the same thing "it's processing" and could give no other information regarding...

Anyone coming up on their "due date" or have gone past it? I'm at day 52 now, status bar went back from 100% on Dec 1st to 80% now, still processing application. I did get a hold of them via web chat but they could provide no information other than the application is going through entitlem...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

For those that take any meaning from the "Status Bar", my due date was Dec 1, the bar went to 100% today, but still shows as processing application. So I don't think the status bar really means anything other than it's a timer that correlates to when your documents were received to when it...
