Those announcements are welcome (IRP valid to travel until January and Citizenship Applications new guidelines in terms of passport). However, people that are changing from stamp1 to stamp4 like I am are being left in the dark... I don't really care about traveling until January, but I am about to ...

I applied for my IRP renewal at my local garda station on 2nd of November and i received with before two weeks. I was surprised too. Thanks John but it is always quicker in the local office. Hi Jolene, the system does this itself as technically the last day before your passport or your IRP is valid is the day before it actually expires (if that makes sense). So it should be fine, shows the same thing for me too.

You should have applied for a re-entry visa. They usually process such requests within a week and they allow applicants to collect their passport in the Burch Quay office directly. Since you don’t have that time now, the alternative is for you to apply for a long-stay entry visa with your local emb...
