Re: Applying for the first British passport with certified copy of foreign passport

I believe they require your passport to make sure the name match. If I could revert the time I would have send an old expired passport and keep my current one. Or do just that, a certified copy. I don't think they look too much into it if you just got your naturalisation certificate as they assume y...

Re: Change address after applying for First British Passport

Good luck with that. You can speak to 10 different people within the passport office and they all will tell you different stuff. I've been trying to get my supporting documents back as I was supposed to travel today and no luck. My family leaves without me. But of course, you can just call them and ...

Re: First adult passport queries

Hi Everyone, I hope you are doing well. I am in a bit of a fix and wanted to get input from experienced people here and would welcome any suggestions as well. My citizenship ceremony is on 1 June 2022 after which I should be eligible to apply for a passport. Initially I thought that I would be able...

Re: First Adult passport- more than 12 weeks

I believe first passports after naturalisation that are made straight after naturalisation won't need an interview as the interview is to validate identity and it is assumed this process has been completed as part of the naturalisation process. I believe your case may be one of those where folder dr...

Can I request foreign passport?

Hi, I need to travel for an unexpected emergency as my mother is on her own and in trouble overseas. I need to get there but my current passport (foreign) is at Bootle passport office as I had applied for my 1st british passport on the 6th of June. Reading comments I should not expect my documents/n...

Re: Unofficially approved but no official ceremony invitation yet

They probably post the certificate first to the council before notifying the applicant. Can i ask which email you have used for the update and how long have you been waiting? Thanks - I think you're right. I just figured that once the HO approves internally (before communicating the outcome to the ...

Re: General discussion on naturalization applications

Hi, It seems that the Home Office sends the certificates before they let you know the application has been approved. In my case, I received the approval/invitation to book a ceremony on the 28th of February. I celebrated but couldn't book ceremony as 'details could not be fetched' from the council p...

Re: Home office requested certificates back

Hi, I got approval email yesterday (28-02-22) for me and my 3 children. I tried to get in touch with the council to book a ceremony but they told me they had sent the certificates back to the home office at their request. That I needed to contact them for further information. My heart just sank, sh...

Any Lithuanian who got British Citizenship?

Hi, I've got a friend that is Lithuanian and got British Citizenship. However, he continues to use his Lithuanian passport everywhere and have never used or gotten a British Passport before. Does anyone know at what point it will become a problem for her? For context: Lithuania only allows one citiz...

Re: Application as family member of EU Citizen

Thanks Alterhase, Appreciate your feedback. I exercised treaty rights by working since 2017 but there is a small gap where I did not have a job so wanted to include CSI just in case they say that for that small gap I can't be deemed to have been lawfully resident. I had that bit with my first born, ...

Application as family member of EU Citizen

Hi, I am a non-EU citizen married to EU citizen. Been living in the UK since 2012, left in 2014 and came back in 2015 after a year break (as our twins were born abroad). I sent an application for me and my 3 children; One born in the UK while we did not have settled nor ILR and the other 2 born abro...
