Re: E vetting and citizenship application

I used to think e-Vetting is last step of the application before getting approval. But now I am not so sure about it. As I saw some earlier posts that people got asked for missing/more documents after their e-Vetting done indicates that they just randomly (or with some non-clear way) send e-Vetting ...

Re: Bank account requirement for Citizenship application

Current account is where you lodge and spend your daily money. Having students account or basic account is same as having current account.

You need to provide your financial transactions from an Irish Bank for 6 months in a year. You can just print out the statements from AIB.

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2021 Pending Approval

Just got eVetting paper form and filled it and sent back. Interesting thing is, the letter from Justice Department was dated from 9th of October, which means they work even on Sunday. I wasn’t expecting anyone to sign some papers on Sunday. Looks like they are working everyday now.

Re: Recent experience about entering UK without visa for travelling to Ireland via airport

Well I sent a complaint email with all required details. I stated the attitude of the border force officer and also asked if TWOV can be used for my case (non EU travelling to UK to travel to Ireland with valid IRP card). I don’t know if I will get an answer to TWOV question but I will let you know ...

Re: Citizenship Applications From 2021 Pending Approval

Hey, I came across this forum with application time and some insights. Apparently the processing time has come down to 19 months at some point in 2022. https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/question/2022-05-17/601/ Not sure if this helps anyone but it is nice to see some numbers. Yeah, right now it’...

Re: How long can I go abroad on stamp 3?

Oh i just checked online. it says you cant stay out more than 3 months without notifying INIS. Sometimes they agree if its related to health/medical/emergency reasons. How can I notify them? By letter or email? What's their address? https://www.irishimmigration.ie/how-to-become-a-citizen/contact-ci...

Re: Court Orders and Irish Citizenship

Hire a solicitor to sort this out. It’s not black and white situation, but needs to be handled by a professional (not forum advisors like us).

Even if we say yes or no, her application needs to describe her situation and I believe a solicitor would do it better compared to an average person.

Re: Recent experience about entering UK without visa for travelling to Ireland via airport

As you have an IRP card issued by Ireland, definitely fit in the exemption for TWOV. Some of the officers really don't have a clue about their own rules. This is my personal experience traveling to UK for last 12 years without a Visa even though I was a Visa required National. I held a document in ...

I called them once, in the evening, and no one picked up the phone or line dropped on purpose, I don't know. But didn't persuaded it as I won't be risking doing this thing again nonetheless.

Re: E vetting and citizenship application

The question is mainly for the applications done via solicitor. Can you tell if they send your eVetting form (physical one to fill out) to your address or to your solicitor’s address? I applied through solicitor, the paper form went to my solicitor, I had to go in in person to sign and provide a co...

There are people in the 2022 Citizenship thread who have already got their approvals. I recommend asking them
Well I would imagine they have 150 points or more otherwise they wouldn't get approved so quickly. But this is just a guess.

Re: Form 8 - Where to obtain it.

Check the version of the form you print/got before you start to fill it in. irishimmigration.ie has the up to date version all the time (while citizen information website had outdated form). So I would print the form personally or check the version and date on top right part of first page and compar...

Re: Received what seems to be the so called “approval letter”

Have you sent your application in March 2022 or do you mean 2021 and this is just a typo? Asking because I haven't seen anyone else even receiving E-Vetting invitation so far. According to his post here he made no typo: https://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=324689&p=2086117...

Re: Marriage to a Non-EEA Citizen

Sorry to be harsh but all your questions are leading to marriage of convenience. If you want to get married, then you should do it without worry of getting residence permit or not in Ireland. As people wouldn’t take life decisions based on visas or permits. If you get married but if your SO won’t be...

6 weeks away from country after citizenship application

Well this is quite often asked question and I answered few times but here we go. There is a note saying that if you are away from Ireland for more than 6 weeks, you need to let ISD know by email. Does this 6 weeks means per year after application? I applied in November 2021, and most likely I won't ...
