Re: Scorecard is a positive development

Just asked this to my solicitor and got an answer "this should not affect your application, we will clarify this." So it seems at this stage there is nothing certain and only time will tell.

Re: Scorecard is a positive development

It, at least, gives us an insight on what counts as a proof of residence internally, which is good: INIS cannot just say "this is not a proof of residence" when it's in the table clearly and so on. But the end result has way too many things missing that were acceptable before (and should ...

Re: Scorecard is a positive development

I don't believe it's a positive development, here is why: there are set of papers that you decide to collect as common sense, bills, your work documents, your payslips and etc. And this is applicable for a person that really pays much attention to paperwork. I can clearly say, I have tons of papers,...

Re: Citizenship 2021

With rough estimates, they are sending out acknowledgement letters to people applied in August-September. Your passport is usually returned without acknowledgement letter at this point. So you have to wait 4 months after you applied to receive the acknowledgement letter. If you need your passport ba...

Re: New scoreboard approach is foolish

What people are forgetting or ignoring here is that a lot of highly skilled workers pay a lot of taxes (plus the citizenship process value) waiting for this citizenship. I am non-EU and could have chosen any other country to move to but decided on Ireland because it would be easier to get citizensh...

Re: New scoreboard approach is foolish

Sorry breakfast, I don't have patience to read all of your nonsense. If State wants to check if I am continuous residence in Ireland, they can simply check my records of entry & exit of country. Period. First of all you are rude for not taking the time to read the other person’s point of view e...

Re: Citizenship application form issue

Just to add my 2 cents here. When you pay for your GP, dentist etc. visit, they should give you invoice as proof of payment. In my opinion this should be enough as proof. As it includes your name, address, date of attendance and service taken (even it says GP visit). As it proves that you were in Ir...

Re: Score card, address matching and bank accounts.

Apart from all the drama in the thread, here are the facts: 1- You need to keep your address up to date with INIS, in a week (or a month) after you change your address. It's an offense not to. This is the reason they ask/verify your address when you enter country. 2- Your bill address should prove y...

Re: Certified colour copy of passport

You need to satisfy 150 points for Identity (aka your ID should be valid and not expired) and also 150 points for residence (bills, P60 etc). Valid passport will only satisfy 150 points for identity not residence.

Re: Certified colour copy of passport

I think it would be better and safer to just send an email to citizenship department and ask. They responded in 2 hours when I sent them an email last time.

Re: Citizenship application form issue

I don't believe rent agreement OR RTB registered tenancy will be an issue while application. As you need to show proof of your address when you renew your residence permit. So if Garda station (or the department in Dublin) is OK with your address proof, then it should be OK with ISD also. Call it re...

Re: New scoreboard approach is foolish

Not arguing with you but, you have to provide tax clearance from Revenue while applying for citizenship. And the confirmation number will bring your all details to ISD. And this is 2022, it’s not like you have to send a letter to an agency to get your file. You can check everything instantly as long...

Re: Citizenship application form issue

It simply means that if you are getting money from government as part of welfare such as jobseekers benefit or allowance, sick benefits aka showing signs that you are being burden to country, it doesn't reflect a good image on your citizenship application. They want you to pay all the taxes but not ...

New scoreboard approach is foolish

Just wanted to rant about the so called "new" scoreboard for applying for citizenship. Full disclaimer, I applied for citizenship in 2021 and yet to hear about the acknowledgement letter. I believe ISD is trying to make things more challenging/impossible to get citizenship mainly for peopl...

Status of citizenship applications that is not acknowledged yet

There is a huge backlog for citizenship applications for 2021, I believe nowadays they are sending acknowledge letters for applications that got received around August 2021 (totally my observation, no official info). My question would be, for the applications that get their passport back with missin...

On Immigration's website it shows 23 months for current processing times, I highly doubt it would get approved so quick. Anyways, I still hope you get the good news quick enough!

Continous residence rule for unprocessed applications

I got my passport back with no acknowledgement letter, in this case does 6 week continuous residence rule still apply to me or because I sent my application it won't be a burden anymore? I mean the rule that says "you have to be continuous resident in state and can't leave for more than 6 weeks...
