Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

I was told via live chat today that first time applications from the UK are running 4-6 weeks behind their estimated issue date. Does this affect all applications from the UK or just those with an FBR certificate? What is different about applications from the UK compared to applications from other ...

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

You would only qualify for citizenship if your grandmother was on the FBR, and your parent also. At the moment you do not qualify as it is based on a great grandparent

Re: Born abroad and adopted under Irish law.

Congrats....my application is still in process, with an estimated issue date of 01/06. My original application was cancelled on 04/04, as firstly it had expired due to length of time in the system, and secondly they said I had sent a photocopy of my adoption court order (it was the original copy fro...

Re: First Time Passport Application Timelines - 2022

Found this page: https://www.passports-office.co.uk/passport_tracking.asp where it states you can contact each of the offices for tracking, but you will need to remember which passport office you sent your application to i guess? That's for UK passports. For Ireland you would check the tracker on t...

Re: Ireland Foreign birth registration or Naturalisation?

Your granddad would have been a citizen as he had Irish born parents. As he was born in Glasgow, the only way for you to get Irish citizenship would be through the Foreign Births Register, and only if he had your parent registered on the Foreign Birth Register prior to your birth. And subsequently t...

Does DFA webchat actually works or is it a scam? I used it a few times few years ago for my kids passport and i would secure a "green chat box" fairly easily but now i am refreshing constantly and it's unavailable. Also it became available for a brief interval but i could not get into the...

Re: Could Irish passports get stamped at EU airports?

At schipol airport, a friend asked for his British passport (pre-brexit) to be stamped, he got a puzzled look from the border guard then a "yeah sure". Just ask for a stamp as a souvenir, it's no skin off the border guards nose. British passports should all be getting stamped now, whether...

Re: Refused Critical Skill Employment Permit Application - Ireland

Hi Guys, Thanks for your views. Just checked with my employer and say hypothetically if he has agreed to increase my salary to 64K p.a and say I could be able to produce an offer letter for 64K. Then is it wiser to appeal the application with a new offer letter or to start a new application? Also, ...

Re: Could Irish passports get stamped at EU airports?

EU passports don't get stamped at EU airports. To get a stamp you'd have to join the queue for non EU nationals. I guess it's really up to you if you want to do that.
