Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

The cancelling issues by the passport office - Is this issue faced by applicants applying from the US? Does anyone applying within Ireland or in the UK have the same issue? Mine was cancelled yesterday, and I'm in the UK. Should have been a straightforward application (I have been a citizen since b...

Yes, I reapplied straight away again yesterday. I'm flying out to Spain on Friday, so need my UK passport for that. Once I get back I'm sending all my documents back into Dublin.

Well...that's my application cancelled. Applied on 23/09 last year, went through the hoohah of having to send in additional documents. I sent them and got a new issue date of 08/03. Just got an email saying they have cancelled my application as it had now expired and that the documents I sent in wer...

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

Yes...I've been through to the webchat and they are pretty useless tbh. Three weeks ago the person I chatted with agreed it had been a long wait, explained there had been IT issues and would escalate the matter. I chatted with them again last week and was advised that it had indeed been escalated, b...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

It is very frustrating. Got two kids applications in at moment and still waiting with issue date of 26 January and been stuck at processing for more than a month. Been worried that may be an issue but not sure if passing the documents being verified is a good sign or not. In December mine changed f...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

The passport application states to send your current passport if you have one from another country. With a 40 work day turn around time I can't be without my passport that long. Will they accept a copy or is there another way to go about this? Photocopy your passport and have it certified by your w...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

For those that have been on this forum awhile, has anyone come up with a theory yet on how they process the applications? Are there teams such as in the FBR and if you get a bad one you are just unlucky? Some are getting passports weeks before due date some are a month after, there's seems to be no...

Re: Born abroad and adopted under Irish law.

If I understand your previous post history correctly, you were born by an Irish born mother and adopted by British parents. I am applying on the basis of my adoptive parents so I am in a completely different boat to yourself. My own situation is that I was born in UK and adopted by UK parents. My b...

To anybody asked to resubmit proof of name/address and applied in 2021...... I too got asked to resubmit documents, I provided 3 proofs and only 1 got scanned. They've updated the requirements and I've highlighted the relevant change. Proof of name such as government correspondence like a letter fr...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

I sent my application off via post on Wednesday. I'm wondering if anyone knows how long it took f...

Re: Online Passport Application First Passport

I read on the passport website that it'll take 20 business days to process new applications. Dec to March is a long time. Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Personally, I wouldn't chase them asking "where's my passport". There's not much they can say or do. I have noticed (on here and twitter) that people who chase seem to get knocked back for rather silly reasons. Absolutely. My estimated due date was 14/12, and when it got to 2 weeks overdu...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

I'm not counting my chickens yet - I could be knocked back! I personally haven't contacted them, and from I've read on twitter, I wouldn't advise it. But as mentioned by others previously, people who ask "any problems?" as opposed to "where's my passport" seem to have a positive...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Hi I have seen that some people are posting tracking their passports. How can i do that? is that the same link https://passporttracking.dfa.ie/ I got a reference number on the acknowledgement letter but its in the form of xxxxxxxx-CITZ-21 and the tracking requires an 11 digit barcode. Am i doing so...
