Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Today I tried to post my passport supporting documenting to Dublin via the Royal Mail here in the UK, only to be told they are not sending any large letters or parcels internationally due to a cyber attack four weeks ago. I can send it via parcel force at the cost of £20, or wait until Royal Mail s...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Makes me wonder if they hold off on the congrats email until the Certificate is actually printed? Someone else had posted something about this theory but it does seem that those who have got the address check but are still waiting and have emailed them about it seem to get the congrats email pretty...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I've just emailed again having not heard anything since the address confirmation on 19/12/22. Even a simple reply at the time to say that they received it would stop a lot of stressing.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

That sounds very odd. Not one I've heard of before. The thing is, since FBR is on the basis of a grandparent, you'd very likely I'm guessing absolutely 100% need a birth certificate for that grandparent you are claiming on behalf of. I'd defo appeal it if you can though. Also, just out of curiosity...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks all, seems like the email confirmation is a bit hit and miss. The sad part about all this is that I obtained all the paperwork/birth certificates etc to send off over 10 years ago but didn't send it off. The fee was a lot cheaper then! Marriage and then 3 kids happened, which of course meant ...
