Re: Foreign Birth Registration

However, I have not seen my mother for 29 years and have no idea where she and have zero way of contacting her as she walked out when I was a child and left me with my dad. I called the FBR today and got told the ownership is on me to get ID from my mother even if exchanged which of course is impos...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I don't want to turn this into an Adoption thread, but the conclusion you have come to is totally and utterly wrong. You're mother is not treated as "born in Ireland", s.11 INCA *does not do this* Where I think you're going wrong is that you think "Irish Citizen" means "Iri...

Why does the official site state 2 years and also I spoke on the phone with them today and was also told 2 years. ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The address confirmation email received from dfa.ie says asks to provide a new address as they won't deliver to a PO Box. I live in a rural area (US, Washington state) with no home delivery. I can change my address using my street address with the PO box used as a suite number. I have done this suc...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I just sent in my passport documents, I tried finding timelines before asking but spent a lot of time reading back many pages so I'll just ask...does anyone know the approximate timing for receiving your passport once they receive the documents? Thanks!! For me, it was ~6 weeks to get my passport b...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi guys, i'm a citizen via FBR. In the process of applying for a passport, does anyone know if it's okay to use a mobile phone bill as proof of address? tl;dr yes? I wasn’t 100% sure what counted for proof of name and address, so I put in more than I thought necessary I used a mobile phone bill bec...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

As someone who has followed this page for a while I can say that they definitely are not processing in strict date order and despite what the government says they are not processing them in 10 months. There are a few people that do get them done a lot quicker than others, maybe just lucky with who ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Sorry for not being clearer. You're correct that that's the part I was querying. I completely agree and am also planning on sending a certified copy instead. Hopefully that doesn't cause any issues. I'll see if I can reach out to them for a definitive answer as well. Thanks! I've seen posts here wh...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

No worries, I love a good spreadsheet. The only way I can see of stopping this is to protect the data worksheet except the cells where you enter the data. I haven't done it as there are a couple of people listed as editors, so perhaps one of them could consider it? Dan or Robert - don't know their ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I'm applying via my grandparents who were born in Ireland and moved to the US. My father was in the FBR and I was registered as well when I was born [...] I've been told without the FBR number, the records can't be found. That doesn't add up. If your grandparents (his parents) were born in Ireland,...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I've managed to restore the spreadsheet using the last version I could confirm was right (31 January 15:40), and then going back over the updates since then on the forum I've managed to complete the blanks. It looks correct now, but I can't be absolutely sure. And if anyone has updated the spreadsh...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

BTW, the notes column in the spreadsheet is out of sync again. I suspect someone manually sorted the data without selecting that column and now the notes don't go with the correct username anymore. I don't think this is something I can fix.

Lot of folks getting their cert in even less than a year
Not quite that quick yet. We've seen a few congrats emails in 11+ months, but looks like ~14+ months is the quickest to get a cert. (excluding those expedited due to pregnancy)
There hasn't been a <12 months to Cert since mid 2020

Postman didn't ask for a signature and just dropped it through my letter box.
Same. I didn't have to sign for my FBR cert and documents, nor any of the three deliveries for my Irish passport (returning my documents, passport book, passport card). US Mail left them in my mailbox.

Thanks...I've tried this at home but the photos weren't being accepted. I think they were too dark and when I used extra lights the PassportOnline website didn't like the shadows. This is why I'm looking for a professional shop to get it done...unless there are other suggestions for doing at home. ...
