Re: Damaged citizenship certificate.

I wonder if this is just another way of getting money out of people. That is, print the cetificate on a very low quality paper, ask people not to laminate it, in the hopes that more people damage it and pay high cost for replacement. :) Has anyone ever needed to show their certificate other than to ...

Damaged citizenship certificate.

Hi all

My citizenship certificate got damaged after return from home office. The lower 1/5th part got torn away while opening the parcel. I wonder if I need to get a replacement. Will I ever need it now that I have gotten my first passport already?

Thank you so much.

Re: Only one applicant approved

Filled two forms, but within same application 'process' - if that makes sense.

Anyway received approval for the other applicant too after an hour.

Only one applicant approved

After waiting for more than 5 months for my citizenship application processing, today I got approval only for one applicant (my wife) but haven't received approval for the other applicant. I find that strange. Is that normal that they send out separate approvals for each applicant. And is it possibl...

Re: British citizenship - no response after 6 months

Almost in similar circumstances. 6th month begins today and no response. I am thinking of figuring out how to reach out to MP to be ready as soon as I hit the end of 6th month mark.

Delay in application processing

Hi, I applied for mine and my wife's citizenship on the 19th of October 2022. We both had ILR for 12 months by then (5 years on T2 + 1yr ILR). Biometrics on 26th October 2022. However haven't heard anything since then. I know of my colleagues who applied after me and got their result back. And I als...

What's a cover letter? Is this something I can write and submit as one of the documents?

Forgot to mention traffic fines on my citizenship application

Hi, i am applying for citizenship after a year on my ILR. I have already submitted and paid for my application, but haven't yet submitted my biometrics. I just realised I forgot to mention that I have had traffic fine for standing in the yellow box once, that was immediately paid for. This was more ...

MN1 application

Hi,

I submitted a citizenship application (MN1) for my 2.5 year old son on the 31st of Dec 2021, and submitted biometrics on 15th Jan 2022 in Croydon. Haven't heard anything at all so far from home office. Is this normal, or should I try contacting home office for a status update?

Re: UK citizenship application eligibility dates clarification

Sorry too many numbers 😂 If ILR was issued on 19/10/21, I’d apply on 19/10/22 making sure I was in the country 20/10/17. If you departed on 20/10/17 the UK considers the departure date as a date of presence in the UK (check list of absences topics and how you count them) so shouldn’t be an issue. T...

Technically you can apply exactly 12 months after you receive your ILR. I applied exactly the same date 12 months after my ILR.
Exactly same date in my case will be 19th oct 2022? As the issue date on my ilr is 19th oct 2021. Or will it be 20th oct?

Re: UK citizenship application eligibility dates clarification

20Oct to be perfectly safe. Also 21Oct would work if you left UK on that date. Application date is the day you submit and pay, irrespective of bio. Thank you. That answers most of my questions. The only part I am still not clear on is why you think 19th Oct isn't a safe date to apply? If ILR issue ...

Re: UK citizenship application eligibility dates clarification

I would suggest applying on the 5th anniversary of when you returned. Keep in mind that the "physically present at the start of the five year period" is a mandatory requirement that the Home Office have no discretion to disregard. So if you apply too early, what will happen is that the Ho...

UK citizenship application eligibility dates clarification

Hi, I was issued my ILR last year and the issue date on the ILR says: 19-10-2021. I will be eligible for citizenship after 12 months of holding the ILR. My question is, on which exact date can I submit application for citizenship. Can I do it on 19-10-2022 or should it be 20-10-2022. Second part of ...
