Re: Naturalisation of a minor

Trying to help a fronds here. Here's their situation: A minor born in the state in 2007, and was not entitled to Irish citizenship at the time of birth as their parents were not legally in Ireland, left the country with family for about 12 years and are now back since 2019 (this time, their mother ...

EUTR3 or EUTR5?

Asking for a friend who's not on this board. She got married to an EU Citizen in 2018, but they separated in 2022. They haven't started their divorce proceedings as of now, but her Stamp 4 EuFam visa is expiring in 2024, February. She communicated the Eu Rights department of their separation when th...

Re: Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2022

The 70 days rule is already up on the Citizen Information page and it applies to every year used for the application. You can leave Ireland for up to 70 days (in total) per year and still be considered resident in that year. If you leave for more than 70 days in one year, you should not count this p...

Re: Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2022

the new applicants would be allowed to be absent from the country for 10 weeks (70 days) per application year (+ 30 additional days exceptionally) I think that the changes with regard to being absent from the state may only apply to the calculation of continuous residence i.e. only the last year? Y...

Re: Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2022

Definitely. I am just curious tho if that's what it means and if there's no way back. That would be great news for the new applicants if so.

I am asking about the baby. If the baby was born in Ireland, it would be an citizen by birth.

Stamp 4 parents, baby born abroad

A friend of mine has an interesting question, that I want able to answer or couldn't find the information anywhere. She and her husband are Brazilian citizens, but they have been living in Ireland with a stamp 4 since 2018. She was pregnant and went on holidays in Brazil, in February 2023. But unexp...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

Is this some kind of joke? I’ve received a reminder today but following the lonk it says: Registration for Citizenship Ceremony 2023 - 1pm has been closed. We hope to see you at one of our future events! Although on the same page it says: Register By 19 June 202313:59GMT I find it very unfair and u...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023

Posting for a friend that was invited for the next cerimony. So my friend got his invitation yesterday. He was supposed to be attending the cerimony on Tuesday, 20th at 1pm. He was very excited, but he didn't see it until late night as he's on holidays. This morning he went thru the e-mail again and...

Re: 2023 Naturalisation Applications Approved??

In another forum I follow there is a reported influx of January and February 2023 applications receiving approval/request to pay the €950 already. The amount of 2023 applicants that have received approval is so large that the forum is discussing whether or not to contact the DOJ or media to get cla...

Application for those married to naturalised Irish citizens

I've seen a lot of people asking this recently, and I don't think we had an official reply from the citizenship department before. A friend of mine is married since 2014, but only became an Irish citizen in 2022. He's wife is also a non-EU Citizen. https://i.ibb.co/8dDsVnZ/IMG-20230220-130557.png

Re: Non EEA NI resident naturalization eligibility?

I'm guessing you are on a De Facto Relationship with your partner. Is your partner an Irish citizen? What kind of visa do you have? Anyone who are married to an Irish citizen and residing in Northern Ireland can also apply to become an Irish citizen. However I couldn't find any info on the de facto ...
