Re: First Time Passport Application Timelines - 2022

Received my passport today, bringing to an end my citizenship application! It came with a letter noting on which page to sign it and that my supporting documents will be returned in 15 working days. Thanks to everyone on this and the FBR forum for making the 2 year and 7 month journey (from beginnin...

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

While I'm waiting for my fbr to arrive in the post, does it make sense to do the passport application online now? I''ll put the passport docs off in the mail just as soon as the fbr arrives as I want to wrap up this whole process asap!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Woke up to the best email! I am a bit surprised with how emotional it made me feel...I'm so grateful to my Grammy for the gift of her lineage and culture. I was a Dec 2020 applicant, with a request for an additional document (I had sent my Mother's proof of death certificate, not the civil death cer...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

an update! I received both an address check AND a document request 🙃🥴 I apparently sent in the wrong death certificate...I submitted a Proof of Death Certificate as opposed to a Civil Death Certificate. Once I send that it in, it should be smooth sailing! it's wild to think that the end is in sight ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Got an interesting reply from the DFA today...I asked (as politely as I could) what my timeline might be after having my documents accepted on 18/12/2020. Was surprised to see that they were accepted a few days earlier than the initial email indicated! "At present, due to the complex nature of ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

As a December 2020 applicant...I'm hoping for a nice Christmas present  As an aside, it's a bit wild for me to think about how life felt back in 2020. That year was so difficult and the future seemed so bleak! Glad to see how things have turned around

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

joemac41 if you're officially doing prognostications, what's your best guess for a Dec 2020 (docs received in Balbriggan) straightforward application? Grateful for ppl like you who have a good head for dates and numbers!

Ade12345 oof what a wait. fingers crossed you hear something soon!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

oh dear...I didn't mean to start a whole NI vs Republic conversation, but thanks to those who gently pointed out that it's called Northern IRELAND for a reason! Funny thing is, my Grandmother was born years before partition created NI in 1921...if she was still alive, I think she'd be surprised to k...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Application: 17/10/2020 Documents received: 018/12/2020 ....and the rest we'll see! Glad to see I'm not the only one who's kept this tab open for a year. My application through my maternal Grandmother was pretty straightforward, other than having to order a new birth certificate from GRONI. Anticipa...
