Is ILR settled status?

This gov page (https://www.gov.uk/check-eligible-free- ... re-working) states at the bottom that you can only apply for this benefit if you have settled or pre-settled status.

Is settled status/pre-settled status the same as having applied for ILR (after 5 years on skilled work visa?)

Re: ILR for partner - documents

All you need to know about cohabitation evidence I've seen this quote around the forum - `You only need 2 years evidence, from 3 to 6 different sources in joint or individual names, spread evenly for every 3 to 4 months` If I'm reading that correctly, I could use for example (all in joint names) 24...

ILR financial requirement

I will be applying for ILR after 5 years on a skilled worker visa. My wife will be added as a partner/dependant on my application. gov.uk states that one of the requirement is that: 'You must both have enough income to support yourself and your dependants' We do also have a 3 year old daughter. My w...

ILR priority decision

I will be applying for ILR in the coming months, and would like to do the priority service to get a quicker result. However, when doing my skilled worker application a few years ago, I wasn't able to use the priority service for that application as I had previously had a visa application denied (lon...

ILR for partner - documents

I will be applying for ILR in August (from skilled worker visa) and my wife will be applying as a partner. Besides the formal documents requested for my wife to apply (which we have), for example: - Marriage certificate - English proficiency certificate What other documents will she be required to h...

naric comparison document for ILR

I have a naric statement of comparability for my south africa degree, which states that it is comparable to a UK masters degree. But it doesn't make any mention of the english language level at all. Am I correct in thinking that the statement needs to explicitly state the english language level for ...

Re: Payments for ILR for dependant

Thanks @zimba

If I am fast tracking the application, then I guess it makes sense to do it as one application.

Payments for ILR for dependant

I had a question on payment for ILR, for anyone who has gone through the process. I will be applying this year for myself and my wife who has been a dependant on my skilled work visa. Do we apply separately, as we did for the work visas, or do I just do one application for both of us, but pay once? ...

Re: ILR for children of parent on work visa

Thanks for clarifying.

So for those intervening months when we're not on a work visa, but don't yet have ILR, we can't travel at all?

Re: ILR for children of parent on work visa

That's cool. So: 1. My wife and I apply for ILR. 2. Once we get ILR, then child can be registered as British Citizenship, and apply for British passport 3. After one year of my wife and I having ILR, we can then apply for British Citizenship + passport And just to be sure, the one year of having ILR...

Re: ILR for children of parent on work visa

My child was born in the UK.

I only ask because there was a reduced fee for the work visa fee, and renewal fee for her.

ILR for children of parent on work visa

Hi I'm trying to find clarification: I am on a work visa, coming up to 5 years next year. I have a dependant wife, and child (3 years old). The cost of the ILR is stated as £2,400 per person. Will that cost also be for my dependants? ie Total Cost is £2,400 * 3 = £7,200, or is there a reduced fee fo...

confirm maintenance on cos using sponsor note

I have a CoS, but the 'maintenance' checkbox was left unchecked by mistake. Could we just add a sponsor note to say it should have been checked, or does this require a reissue?

Re: start and end dates on Cos

Or more simply - what should the end date be on the CoS be so that in total it adds up to 5 years?

start and end dates on Cos

A general question on the start and end dates on a CoS. My initial 3 year tier 2 cos was start date 12 Aug 2019 and end date 11 aug 2022. My visa for this period expires on 25 Aug 2022. My new Cos has been issued with start date 26 Aug 2022 and end date 26 Aug 2024. Should the end date rather be 25 ...

Highly skilled extension - UK ID app

I am currently on a tier 2 visa, and will be applying for an extension. From what I understand this will be through the highly skilled visa. It seems this is just a whole new application though. My question is - will I need to scan my old BRP card for this, or will it solely be based on my passport ...

Re: Update name on BRP card to match passport.

Or is better to just go ahead and do the new visa application, as we will be doing that shortly? In that case, will it be a problem if the new visa application is done in her new name, but her existing BRP card is in old name?

Update name on BRP card to match passport.

My wife has a BRP under her maiden name, which was the name on her passport when we first applied for our tier 2 skilled visa (we were married before we applied for the visa). She has just received a new passport now as the old one was expiring, under her married name. So the name on the BRP no long...

Re: Tier 2 extension dates

sorry - last question!
I can apply 8 weeks from inside the UK for my renewal visa. So, I can apply on 30 June 2022, which is 8 weeks before the 26/08/2022, which is the start date on my CoS, and 1 after my current visa expires (25/08/2022). Is that correct?

Actually your ILR 5y will be calculated from 31/08/2019, and you can apply 28 days before that 5 y anniversary. So you can apply 03/08/2024.
OK thanks. And it's 31/08/2019 because that's the earliest between the vignette 'valid from' date and the date my BRP was issued (06/09/2019)?

Re: Tier 2 extension dates

The official guidance is your employer will put the day after the current visa ends (should be 14 days after your old CoS end date) as the start date on your new CoS. The 5y starts from the earliest of the issue dates on your BRP and your visa vignette if you apply from abroad. It is not based on y...

Tier 2 extension dates

Hi there I obtained a Tier 2 General Work visa on the 22 August 2019. However, the start date on my Certificate of Sponsorship was actually for the 12 August 2019 (with 11 August 2022 end date). (took a long time to get it) I am now coming up to having to extend this into a Skilled Work Visa. Which ...
