You are right mimiki. Not long ago I received my Registration Certificate together with my passport. On the envelop the sender was stated as Croydon. There was a letter in the envelop which came from the Liverpool office. By the way, did the HO tell you guys whether the decission was positive or ne...

Okey, this is getting more and more interesting. As I read in your posted messages mimiki, lapkapups and copper: - Copper applied in October 2007 - Lapkapups in November 2007 - Mimiki in November 2007 - I applied in December 2007. The HO now says to all of us that the applications are decided, but ...

Okey, now it starts to become interesting. I just called with 0161 261 1117 the North-West Liverpool complaints department of the HO. They said my wifes' application for a residence card was decided and they need to sort out the papers and will send the documents very soon! Hmmm. On the website the...

But can we actually do something? If we really make a joint complaint as Love-Without-Borders suggested? It is true that HO is losing their high moral ground but it does not look that they care. Besides, though in theory we are supposed to be treated on the same grounds as EU nationals in practice ...
1) Have any of you had success by making a complaint to the HO complaints department or contacting Solvit on this matter? quote] I have complained to the HO Complaints Department and as a result my case has been allocated and taken into consideration. It's be...

Update

Just an example of how they work. Having been unable to find out from the General Enquiry Line if my letter has been passed to the caseworker, I called the guy from the Complaints Department. He checked, and the caseworker has not received my letter yet, nor does she know that I've sent anything. Th...

No need to panic. You have a right to accompany your husband. The Residence Card is just a formality to confirm in writing the right you already have. You do not even need to apply for the Residence Card (assuming you do not want to travel). Yeah, imagine someone who wants to stay here for all life...

If you are married, and your EU citizen spouse is working, they can refuse you for only one of three reasons: (1) WHO listed nasty diseases like Ebola (2) You are a threat to national security (3) You are a major public policy issue Do any of these three apply to you? If not, then do not worry. :lo...

Extract from the UK EEA regulations. I think the confusion comes from the exercising of EEA rights where all the parties are EEA citizens. I think the caseworkers take the view that a valid passport is always required, rather than accept a valid EEA ID card. Not an excuse really. May be you are rig...

The purpose of the ID card or the passport is to prove the citizenship of your husband. They do not need both. I would strongly recommend you complain immediately to solvit about both how long it is taking, and that they are asking for completely unnecessary extra documentation. Complaining will ir...

Sorry, but why not just send it in very quickly? If they ask for further Info they will probably already have decided on your application and need to verify something before sending out the residence documents and your docs. They asked us for some additional Info. I sent it to them the same day, an...

ID card OR Passport is enough. You do not have to submit both. The law is very clear. What would you consider unusual about your application? I would suggest you immediately contact Solvit to get them involved. http://eumovement.wordpress.com/help-eu-solvit/ I meant it's unsual for them to send a r...

Hi again! I received a letter from HO today (by Special Delivery!! isn't it unsual?) asking to submit my husband's passport in addition to his ID that they already have. When I called them they wouldn't transfer me to the caseworker but on my question why they need passport if they have ID already t...

I have had similar experience - I was told on the phone that the 6 months is merely a guideline. However, having contacted SOLVIT they have advised that the HO is in breach of the regulations by going over the 6 months. Obviously HO has their own opinion when it's suitable to them. For us they have...

That is weird. If you read the law closely, you will find that the 6 months limit does not cover applications by extended family members. But it certainly applies for family members, and there is no exception whatsoever, not even in "difficult" cases. Tom
I think they just can't s...

[Could I ask you in which telephone number you phoned about complaint? ] It's 01612 611 117 and I called at around 9.30am. I called later somewhere around midday 'cos I forgot to ask some stuff in the morning but they were already too busy so I got just an automated msg advising me to submit a compl...

Sorry, forgot to say that I have been argueing with them over the phone about the 6 months processing time and they have been trying to prove to me that this is not a LAW, that this is just nothing, some couple of lines of no importance in HO casework instructions and they can take as long as they w...

EEA2 processing times

Hi all! I am in a similar situation, maybe a bit better. I applied on the 20th of November 2007 - 6 months deadline is going to be next Tue, 20th May. However, I need to travel in a month time which is quite important, like all of us. I have heard I've got no right to complain until they really have...

Hi, I also posted my application on the 20th of November and I have not heard back from them yet!! Always the standard reply: "It's pending consideration". Have anyone else received the documents back who applied after October 2007? Please, please let me know. Or maybe anyone knows if ther...
