Now, I myself decided not to apply for it and remain with present nationality. Is there any way that w...

Thanks for the responses so far, but I'm still not aligned with the consensus! @Joe777, I see the point you make but it seems to me that the HO has to mop up for the act of an individual. @republic, I see your point too but again what is the difference between a spouse abandoned and a spouse victim...

I know I've asked this before on another forum but I'd like to know why DV is a valid route to ILR? Before I go on, I know DV is an insidious act, and anyone guilty of it deserves to be hung, drawn and quartered, and the victims deserve protection but I do wonder why that includes a favourable rout...

republique, ...great stuff there... Maybe you've spent too long reading about visas that you can't see the human side. I'd have thought people on a visa advice forum would be trying to avoid being part of the machinery. When I say I've kept her out of the benefits, obviously this is not because she...

Ok, thank you so much for your advice. This is why I posted my letter on this website. I needed advice. I thought maybe it IS too long, but I was told to disclose everything. I feel that if I keep it brief and simple, I might not cover all the points, and they might think I am hiding some things?? ...

Re: My Overstay Explanatory Letter... good or bad?

Your original letter is the worst apology I have ever read. And then you get argumentative with John about what is covered medically. Who cares? The stuff you put in the letter is so unnecessary, it shows how little understanding you have of others, in this case, UK immigration policy and how invol...

Hi, I have now taken an appointment with the Nationality Checking Service in Hamilton, Scotland. Photocopies are not normally acceptable.
However in this instance as the HO failed to return it to you, I think it should work.
If anyone does not get their certificate back, please ask the HO to return it in the future.

I was just quoting what is mentioned in the link. Re: Will Malaysian Immigration know if I enter on UK Passpor

Hello. I'm a dual national British/Malaysian. Malaysia does not recognise dual nationality. I have recently encountered a problem because of new UK immigration laws that won't allow an ROA stamp in the non-UK passport of a UK passport holder. My question is - having travelled in and out of Malaysia...

Re: Naturalization question [Business trips outside UK] ?

Hi All ! I have been in the UK on Work permit since Jan 2002. I got my I.L.R in Feb 2006. I have generally stayed in the UK except for vacations totalling no more than 5 weeks per year. I did step outside the UK for 3 weeks in August 2008 and 2 weeks in Dec 2008. However, I have been abroad since t...

Dear BatleyKhan I appreciate that if its the law, and it is required, then so be it. I'm not disputing that really. What does annoy me is that there are so many people out there who get here on a free ride (UK Border Force on TV gives a few examples), and we have to do some really hard work to pass...
