Well, IELTS is valid for 2 yrs but Canada Immigration dept considers it invalid after 1 yr! That's why the question. If yours has expired (2 yrs over) I would say avoid risking it. You might wana get a letter frm your Univ stating that the medium of instruction for during your degree was English. :...

You cannot change from a dependant visa to T1 (G) within country, you will have to go back to India and apply from there.

I will let the experts answer this query as I think it is important to show that your employer will continue to need you in employment at the time of ILR if you are on a WP. Not sure what will happen in your case. On another note, a reminder that you cannot apply for ILR more that 28 days before the...

Re: Fall short of ILR 5 years rule by 1 month and 11 days

Apologies if this question is answered already. I am on HSMP + Tier 1 general extension. I fall short of 5 years requirement by 1 month 11 days. My HSMP visa started from 18th Feb 2008 and my Tier 1 extension expires on 18th Feb 2013. With this scenario, is it worth taking the risk of applying for ...

As you are still being paid in USD, your absence from USA will be seen more as a vacation rather than as a relocation for a month. Therefore, it is case 2.

If you were being paid in India for that 1 month then you could have applied the uplift ratio.

Guess it is a little ambiguous as the policy guidance says - It is the dependant’s responsibility to provide the evidence to support any statements made in his/her application. ... Any documentary evidence that the dependant provides should be original (unless otherwise stated). But if it has been...

The problem with the rules is that they focus completely on the income of a person - which is no criteria for being highly skilled! A rich take-away restaurant owner is not unheard of. :)

I don't think there is any section on the form where you can fill this in and neither is it required. If you want to mention this for any special reason suggest you do so on the covering letter.

IMO, the uplift ratios are created to bring overseas salaries in line with their United Kingdom equivalents, so, if you were paid in UK, dont think you can multiply it again (even if you were physically present in INdia). We will wait for others to confirm. A reasonable interpretation. regards Righ...
