Re: Irish Naturalisation *without* criminal record

Does every single applicant to Ireland have to submit criminal checks for every country that they have lived in since they were x years old or is it only some people? Some people. Some say it is required if you spent extended period of time outside Ireland (so in these countries), but unsure. To th...

Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

Since having the naturalisation cert means that they've already checked out your birth cert. To be fair, with online process I don't think a physical cert is sent to ISD nowadays, and sinde they can't even verify a copy of naturalization cert, there's not much information sharing between ISD and DF...

Re: American marrying Irish

I can say that when I (as a US citizen) moved to Ireland as the spouse of an Irish citizen I didn't apply for my public service card until I had arrived in Ireland. Part of the process of applying for a PSC requires an in person meeting, unless things have changed since I got mine. I applied for min...

Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

I'm also super worried about the delay, my estimated issue date is tomorrow but I cannot accommodate a week of delay... I agree that it's mind-blowing how they cannot process even with such long processing times they announce... Fingers crossed, we'll get there, I'm sure. I'll say the first time I ...

Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

I used a certified copy of my certificate That might be a problem. When I applied (October), they couldn't verify the cooy of cert -> if you sent a copy, you would've been asked to send an original anyway. Hopefully they fixed it already, but it might still happen! Hopefully it won't be a problem. ...

For what it is worth, I submitted my passport application online on 19 February, they day I got my certificate. They got my documents on 21 February. My estimated issue date for my passport book is 21 March. As of today my documents are still being verified. I used a certified copy of my certificate...

Re: E-vetting when unsure about previous addresses

I've been vetted three times since I moved to Ireland (twice for jobs and once for citizenship), and I had the same issue. For times that I couldn't remember exact addresses I just put all of the other info (city, country, etc) and "various addresses" in the address field. I passed all of ...

Re: Confused, citizenship through grandparent or parent

As others have said, you have the process correct. You have been an Irish citizen from birth, due to your mother being an Irish citizen born on the island of Ireland. Your daughter is not a citizen by birth, however you can register her in the Foreign Births Register to get her her Irish citizenship...
