Thank you for the replies.
So that means he can change his mind before he attends the ceremony. He waited ten years to get ILR and then waited four years to apply for naturalisation. Nepal doesn't recognise dual citizenship, which is why he and I waited a while before applying for citizenship.

If naturalisation is approved, can one return to ILR?

I'm asking on behalf of my brother, who applied before me and got approved recently. He's due to attend his ceremony in a week and is having second thoughts about losing his Nepalese citizenship. If he attends the ceremony, can he keep his Nepalese citizenship if he then chooses not to get a passport?

Re: Sent passport and naturalisation certificate to HMPO- Royal Mail lost it

Therefore, even if I apply for a replacement naturalisation certificate, I can't get a passport again. How do I go about getting my first adult British passport without my current passport, since it's a required document? I trust your documents will be logged in soon by HMPO. Have you checked the H...

Re: Brother finally got approval email but Council had no information to book ceremony?

Thank you for replying.
The approval from the HO says invitation to ceremony, so it's strange that there is no information available when calling the Council.

Thank you.

Re: Questions on Naturalisation application status

Hi, I made an application for naturalisation and submitted documents in June first week 2023. The Route was skilled worker visa -> ILR -> after 1.5 years -> naturalisation application. There is no complication in the application as such. I know the general timeline is 6 months, but i observed that ...

Could someone please advise how an application made online can be withdrawn? You could cancel here: https://www.gov.uk/cancel-visa However, what is the issue? Have you loaded documents? If not you could upload a covering note with additional info or corrections. Thank you for your reply. I'm asking...

Does a parcel seizure notice from the Border Force need to be reported to Home Office?

A parcel seizure letter from Home Office Border Force was received by my dependent yesterday. She had ordered some herbs from China.

Do I need to write to the Home Office to declare this? If so, how? The application has already been submitted.

Re: Are e-signatures of referees ok?

Don’t think it makes any difference. Colour might even be clearer. So load what you got. Thank you. There are multiple categories in the uploads section so just wondered if the referee forms go under "other"? "Other" is fine - all documents are reviewed. Thank you. Do I need to ...

Re: Are e-signatures of referees ok?

We can never be sure they use the right terminology in the guidance .... Suggest you enclose what you have and some evidence of having submitted - add a note to clarify your understanding. I think the size limit is 6mb, normally you can adjust your scan settings to manage file sizez. All my files a...

You can upload anytime before your biometric appointment. Simply log in and upload. What do you want add that is extra?? Minimal docs rrwurirdd for citizens. Strongly advise not to submit unnecessary stuff you think is relevant. Thank you. I don't have the SA300 as the HMRC never sent me one. So I ...

Re: How long to keep paperwork after citizenship?

On these forums, I have occasionally helped out people with their queries based on documents of their forefathers from the first half of the 20th century. I subscribe to the view that paperwork of this importance needs to be retained indefinitely, as the Home Office is not going to keep it, but can...

Re: Are e-signatures of referees ok?

Thank you. It seems only self-employed applicants need to provide proof of tax but not anyone else. Wonder why that is the case. The majority of applicants pay tax/NI monthly through PAYE which automatically transfers dues to HMRC and can therefore easily be interrogated. Self-employed settle their...

All the versions of the SA100 say don't send to HMRC. Not sure where to get a copy that doesn't say this.

Re: Are e-signatures of referees ok?

Thank you.

Is there any way to get a copy of the self-assessment that doesn't say "copy only. do not send to HMRC". On another thread, a person who successfully applied said that this watermark should not be present on the self-assessment that you sent to the HO.
