This is the standard wording everyone gets on the letter at least via the WP/PBS route to ILR. No point in writing to UKBA. They do not give out letters anymore stating you have ILR, the passport vignette is your only evidence.

It is standard that any active visa, is accepted, provided it is carried in the old passport along with the current passport.
In UK, immigration officers often write VIPP in your new passport(visa in previous passport).

You should try and be as accurate as possible, look at previous flight details etc.If you are within the limit perhaps it doesnt matter but if you arent then you may need the exact dates. You can request UKBA for a SAR file for your data as well. From my experience, some of my dates of entry to USA ...

Your info from UKBA is correct. You have to apply now on SET F form as I have explained before. It amounts to what others have mentioned, switching visa status as dependent of a 'settled person'. In your case, it actually means, applying for PR as you have completed 5 yrs of stay and are already on ...

The only way will be to appeal and provide an original birth certificate. You can do that in two ways 1)Have a duplicate issued by local authorities 2)Obtain it from the school

Most PEOs will screen the application first, make sure its filled in correctly and then charge fees, for this to be processed by a case worker. You dont get a refund if your application is rejected. In fact while its being processed the case worker may quiz you but doesnt tell you anything about out...

I agree but £1600 in PO has also to be bought in cash, which is again a nuisance. I really dont like giving out 3 digit code info on the form so cheque sounds a better proposition. I have done this before but perhaps the fees was much less earlier.
Thanks for your response.

They will offer you a slot with in 4-6 wks or earlier if available; its hit and miss; you have more chance of finding a particular date for an appointment online than by phone.

Cheque payment

Hi all,
Just wanted to know if any one has experienced any delay in processing of application, if the payment of fee is made by cheque , on a postal application for ILR.
Many thanks
