There is no written rule which is in current use, so you have to take your chances. the absences must be legitimate.

>>some of the forum posts reference a 180/90 rule: no more than 180 days over the 5year period, and no more than 90 days in the final 12months. But I cannot see that referenced anywhere on the HO site or in their SET (O) guidelines. Does anyone have an idea where that is referenced?>> 180/90 day rul...

I suggest you call UKBA on phone and request them to include your dependents, if all under 18 , I am sure they will oblige.

You will need to book all under a family slot, create separate IDs for each if you choose to book online, only over 18 need to attend, rest including spouse need not.

My wife had her last leave as Tier 1 Residence permit. I don't think it said anywhere ' dependent'. Her earlier leave was WP dependent, then Resident permit again (as HSMP dependent but it didnt say that on the stamp). Perhaps because her entire residence permits were in order, I was not asked to pr...

I note this site https://www.landregistry.gov.uk and it charges £4 for a copy of the titie in the Register. It says however that this is not a guaranteed copy. Is this copy enough for UKBA? I have a copy anyway as the original is with the bank. My daughter who is my dependent and coudnt apply with ...

You will be asked only if your absences exceed approx 180 days , give and take few.
You could ask our HR to certify your AL but in any case this will not exceed 6 wks/yr, even if you spend all of it abroad.

Hi all,
I had no problem with ILR for my wife as she had the HSMP dependent visa first then Tier 1 after extension.I was not asked to show how long she had stayed in the UK.
IMHO if you have HSMP first then Tier 1 , then you should not have a problem over duration of stay.

Thanks Cherry for posting this letter. This is very useful for all who ask about absences. I have mentioned several times that paid annual leave will usually be discounted even if it exceeds 180 days provided there is no break of over 90 days.

I dont think you should have a problem with this. Have a letter from your employer stating that these were ' professional' or work related visits and that you continued to be paid during this time. I had 19 such days spent on educational meetings/conferences abroad, case worker never mentioned anyth...

Case worker will definitely ask for proof, so you must try and obtain it before you apply in person. Phone UKBA and ask for advise as well. If it means delay in applying, it may be worth waiting for, so its upto you.

Sushdmehta has pointed you in the right direction.

The case worker needs evidence of your economic activity of past 5 years. You can supply P6Os, salary slips and bank statements. It doesnt matter if your company was doing tax fraud, that is not your problem as the taxes due were taken off from you. if you flied taxes for any period, proof of that w...

Hi vin2010, You need to list your absences in the form. In a separate sheet calculate the days out of UK, discounting days of travel. The total should be less than 180 days, I would imagine a few days in excess doesnt really matter. You can exclude business trips if you have an employer letter. My ab...

You have a strong case, have documentation ready and apply. Do not offer docs unless asked for( regarding your father's illness) as it doesn't breach 90 day rule. Fill in the dates truthfully on the form but be prepared with an excel sheet calculation of exact days of absences. Submit an employment ...

I am not sure about the reliability of the info on the link you posted. 180 days are permitted, days of travel only are not counted. However each case worker determines your continuity of residence in UK and certainly absences of over 90 days are carefully looked at. People have got ILR where absenc...
