Regarding your passport, they have to check your original passport file which is held in your regional passport office. Since its a hard copy it can take quite a while. Your best bet indeed is to check whats happening at your RPO. Perhaps they cant locate your file!!

It means there is a problem with your application, as they have to check it with your original file, which probably is not digital and only in ' hard copy'.
I can tell you that I had my passport renewed( a new one) in 10 days.

Regarding sending a passport from India to any outside country or vice versa, only the Indian HC/passport office has authority to do that. i have had someone do that before via passport office in India..

First step is ILR, which a spouse can apply after you live together for 2 yrs, once you have ILR, you can apply after 1 yr for naturalisation or citizenship.. You have to pay separate fees each time, details are on the website of UKBA.

If you go in person to the Indian HC and explain your situation, you should get a new passport in a few days, as it will be best to get ILR stamped on the new passport. If you are waiting for it to come back by post, you might have to wait for ever. it will depend on the HC you have sent your passpo...

John, I agree with what you say but my son was asked for both 1.proof of what he is doing 2.bank statements Fortunately I could get his statements from a nearby HSBC or we would have not been dealt with that day. They want proof if over 18 can sustain themselves as after ILR they will be under no re...

1.Yes, you dont need LIUK test but suggest carry a copy of the HSMP JR document as this is not known by all case workers. 2.You need to show your 3 months bank statements , evidence of what you do and where you live; your father needs to write a support letter as well. Carry your birth certificate a...

If youre applying under HSMP JR, tick that and not Tier 1.

Changing surname now, will be source of problems. Suggest use the current name to avoid such issues later esp while traveling as f2k has noted.

natalious13, 1.If your leave to remain and entry in UK was legal, a gap inbetween jobs doesnt really matter. 2.For ILR, you have to demonstrate continuous residence in UK. If you were away on business trips, take an employer letter for them. If your personal absences are less than 180, there should ...

If you are the main applicant, give your own info and income, if you don't pay mortgage, don't mention it. It further says, if someone else does that on your behalf, give your partner's name there.

It all looks fine, do take your pay slips and bank statements of where ever you have a gap of P45/P60. Worth a try getting the docs for 2006 although it may not ultimately matter, as you did get HSMP after that. If your wife came on your HSMP visa, then she will get ILR at the same time, her absence...

Hi
Read my detailed post on this forum(use search), the guy checking the documents only makes sure you have filled in all parts of the application, he/she doesn't check any document. It is the case worker who checks them all.
