I think you need a 6 months game plan seeing as you do not meet any of the financial requirements at present. So maybe find a job that pays more than the 18K per year requirement and make the application for your wife after the 6th month payslip?

Next time maybe try apply for a shorter duration, 3 weeks maybe then once you are in there you can stay longer. 5 months visit would always raise concerns and the officer will try look for reasons to refuse.

So small update, I got my passport today (Applied on the 5th June with biometrics following day). Visa approved. I guess I was just overthinking it.

My understanding is that they process every application separately even though the family members are traveling together.
