Re: Foreign Birth Registration

In the FB group, I saw someone whose documents were received on 4 October 2022 has received their address check. I was glad to finally see an Oct 2022 date, as my docs were received 11 Oct. Now I'll just be checking my email obsessively for the foreseeable future... The official advice currently is ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Does it seem to anyone else that the FBR approvals for docs received in Sep 2022 has slowed down a bit? From what I can tell, not many (if anyone) has received any contact regarding applications for which docs were received in the 2nd half of Sep 2022. Mine were received on 11 Oct 2022, so I'm getti...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Between January 1 and September 30, 2022, there were 21,001 FBR applications submitted according to that very useful data someone got from the FBR office a couple months ago. The Foreign Ministry also said that in October 2022, the FBR office processed about 5,000 applications per month but hoped to...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

It does stress that this doesn't confirm the application will be successful but I haven't seen many posts on the forum about failure at this stage? It should be a straightforward application unless I made some stupid mistake but I rechecked it all many times! Yes, that's interesting. I've been foll...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

With the FBR office now processing October applications from 2020, and assuming that they keep up their current pace of review, it seems to me that those of us who submitted out applications and documents in October 2022 could feasibly our applications reviewed and (hopefully) approved in well unde...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just receive confirmation that my application has been received! I'm wondering how long it could actually take for me and others in my boat. Any estimates, predictions, and wild guesses welcome!

Re: Registering foreign birth based on foreign birth grandparent?

Hi! I've got a question similar to the original post. I'm seeking to apply for Irish citizenship through descent (FBR). I'll try to sum it up below: 1. Great-grandparents born on the island of Ireland 2. Grandparent born abroad, registered as a foreign birth, returned to Ireland to live permanently ...
